KEEP ON ROLLING: The Dodgers, winners of a season-high
four consecutive games, continue their six-game homestand (3-
0) with an NL West showdown against the San Francisco Giants,
following their sweep over the Phillies. Los Angeles recorded its
first sweep of the season and its first since Sept. 22-25, 2016
against the Rockies. After the three-game set against the Giants,
the Dodgers will head south to San Diego for three contests
against the Padres at PETCO Park this weekend.
The Dodgers sweep over the Phillies last weekend was
the first time the club swept an opponent coming from
behind in each game since April 30-May 1, 2014 at
Minnesota (three games). The last time the Dodgers
came from behind in each game during a sweep at home
was against the Padres from Aug. 30-Sept. 1, 2013 (three
games).
Los Angeles finished the month of April going 14-12, as
they recorded a winning record in the season’s opening
month for the fourth time in the last six years. The
Dodgers ranked third in the National League with a +20
run differential to finish the month, trailing only the
Nationals (+48) and the Diamondbacks (+29).
The Dodgers, who tied the four-game series against the
Giants last week at AT&T Park, have held the upper
hand when facing their NL West rivals at Dodger
Stadium, winning 10 of their last 13 games against San
Francisco at the Ravine since June 21, 2015.
ACE STRONG: Clayton Kershaw will take the mound for the
Dodgers tonight, following his last start on Tuesday against the
Giants at AT&T Park in which he allowed just one run on six hits
in 7.0 innings and picked up his fourth win of the year. In 38
career games (37 starts) against the Giants, Kershaw has gone 19-
8 with a 1.60 ERA (48 ER/270.1 IP) and has held hitters to a
.184/.221/.254 slashline, while striking out 285 batters against
only 43 walks. According to Stats LLC., Kershaw’s ERA against
San Francisco is the second lowest among National League
pitchers in the live-ball era (since 1920) versus any opponent
(min. 20 starts), behind another great Dodger left-hander Sandy
Koufax, who posted a career 1.44 ERA against the Mets.
In his last 11 starts at Dodger Stadium, Kershaw has
gone 10-0 with a 0.65 ERA (6 ER/83.1 IP) and has struck
out 96 batters against only six walks. He has held the

in yesterday’s contest, recorded his seventh save of the
season, tying for the second most in the NL. Jansen, who
has tossed scoreless relief in his last eight games (7.2 IP),

season.
Pedro Báez has tossed scoreless relief in eight of nine
appearances this season, posting a 0.96 ERA (1 ER/9.1

yesterday going 3-for-4 with a double, is hitting .433 (26-for-60)

appearance. Gutierrez, who finished last night going 2-for-4 with
an RBI, has hit .500 (3-for-6) with two runs, a home run and three
