Driving cab was a somewhat controversial occupation for a woman when I shot this photo for an article in 1969.

In 1972, L&K Lumber moved to evict eighteen squatters who had settled on land they owned, just east of Second Narrows Bridge on the north shore — the Mudflats, as the settlement was called.
