8/13/2019 SAL - Letter to Parents and Staff 6 December 2013
1/1
6 December 2013
Dear Parents and Staff of Salford School,
As previously advised, as the first step in the current intervention process, I am required to
prepare a Scoping Report for the Ministry of Education. The Scoping Report is due today
and I wish to share it with you all before the media acquire a copy.
The nature of a Scoping Report is to report on the issues facing a school.
There are a lot of good things happening at Salford School not least the happy, active and
engaged students.
Despite the issues identified in my Scoping Report, the Salford School Staff all have the bestinterests of the students at heart and continue to deliver quality teaching and learning
experiences to the children.
The issues I have identified are adult issues and it is the adults who need to be involved in
addressing them.
I wish to assure you all that student achievement and student welfare will remain the
paramount focus of Salford School during and following the course of this intervention.
The next part of the intervention process is the development of an Action Plan to address the
issues that have been identified.
Yours sincerely,
Nicola Hornsey
Commissioner
