“It was really magical.” — Teryll Arcuri, Student Night at the Opera Participant

Student Night at the OperaThis program provides classroom teachers and their

students access to the final dress rehearsal of the Sacramento Opera’s productions. The final dress

rehearsal typically features a complete run through of the company’s upcoming performance.

Opera-TunitiesEnjoy an interactive hour of opera for K-12 classrooms,

featuring opera singers from the region. Opera-Tunities includes lesson plans, audio

excerpts from the upcoming production, handouts, and discussion.

BrundibárIn collaboration with the Sacramento

Children’s Chorus, Sacramento Youth Symphony, and the Central Valley Holocaust Education Network, Sacramento Opera presents the children’s opera

Brundibár in April 2010. Composed by Hans Krása in the years leading up to World War II and performed by the children of the Terezín concentration camp, Brundibár is a timeless musical fable of innocence

triumphing over evil.
