Ammonia - the natural choiceAmmonia has a number of characteristics which make it the ideal refrigerant for future refrigeration purposes:

• Ammonia is the only refrigerant with no negative impact on the environment

• No ozone depleting potential (ODP)

• No global warming potential (GWP)

• A well-known and acknowledged refrigerant which has been used safely in refrigeration for more than 100 years

• Ammonia has the best thermodynamic efficiency

• A natural refrigerant which easily breaks down into nitrogen

• Heat reclaim for hot/warm water production in ammonia refrigeration plants within the food industry (abattoirs, dairies, ice cream factories, fish processing, freeze drying, breweries, slaughter houses etc.)

• Condenser heat reclaim from refrigeration systems
