Introduction of the STaR Chart

Texas Education Agency has created an assessment used yearly to track progress of technology used on campus.

School Technology and Readiness

Self assessment performed annually.

Used for: Planning, Budgets, Evaluations

Standard I: All teachers use technology related terms

Standard II: All teachers identify task requirements

Standard III: All teachers use task appropriate tools.

Standard IV: All teachers communicate information

Standard V: All teachers can plan, organize, deliver and evaluate instruction

SBEC Technology Standards

TEA and SBEC use the following categories yearly to rate individual campuses and the state as a whole.

Maintained Developing Tech for 3 consecutive years

Weak in the following areas: Technology applications Student Mastery of Technology App Online Learning

Maintained this status for 2 consecutive years, up from Early Tech.
