OVERVIEW

Date: 22•• July·4'" August, 2016 Taught In: English

s hanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), founded in 1896, is one of the top universities

which enjoy a world-renowned reputation in China.The program is aimed to cultivate

trainees' multi-cultural perspective and to inspire creativity via their mastering of Chinese Art.

Various approaches such as in-class instruction, field trip, case analysis and workshop would

be applied to the courses. Artists and designers from China, Japan and Europe will help

trainees to command the essence of Chinese Art and Philosophy as mentors.

FEATURES Through two-week's study, trainees would be able to

• Complete a basic Chinese Calligraphy and

Painting work independently

• Learn the common knowledge, aesthetic

standard and cultural values of Chinese Art

• Share experience and best practices with

foreign designers who work in Shanghai

• Have the opportunity of accomplishing a real

design project offered by local enterprise

• Find potential promising career opportunities

in China

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

P rofessor Renzuo Zhan (born 1954 in Shanghal),master of

Chinese Flower and Bird Painting, is'the most popular

professor' of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His works are

collected by world-wide famous dignitaries, such as William

Jefferson Clinton (42"d President of the USA),Lee Kuan Yew

(181 Prime Minister of Singapore), Nakasone Yasuhiro (7181 -?3rd

Prime Minister of Japan),Chen-Ning Franklin Yang {Winner of 1957

Nobel Prize in Physics) etc. Since 1996, Professor Zhan has been

teaching Chinese Painting on CCTV Education Channel. He has

published dozens of textbooks and a collection of stamps.
