Sarajevo was the first in a long line of editions of the Winter and Summer

Games celebrated while Juan Antonio Samaranch was IOC President, a fact

depicted on this statue created by Catalan artist Rosa Serra.

Racing in front of a home crowd Yugoslavia‘s Jure Franko managed to steel the spotlight

with his silver medal giant slalom performance.
