What is it?Designed to help direct clubs toward ways they can improve their image in the community.
Recognizes clubs in our District that create a positive Public Image in their communities.
Encourage clubs which have not yet developed a Public Image plan to do so.

Why is Public Image (Public Relations) Important?
Having strong public relations ensures that communities around the world know that Rotary is a credible organization that meets real needs.
When a Rotary club has a positive public image, current members are motivated to be active and prospective members are eager to join.

How Can My Club Qualify?Complete the 3 required activities
and at least 2 additional activities.
Appoint a Club Public Relations Chair or someone to coordinate this effort.
Clubs have from July 1, 2014 through April 30, 2015 to earn the citation
Due May 1, 2015 to District PR Chair Angela Jamison.

Three Required Activities:
1.Organize a Rotary Day event that results in significant media coverage, engages your members and offers the opportunity to promote your club and The Rotary Foundation.
Submit a report of your event with examples of media coverage to D-7710 Public Relations
Chair Angela Jamison by May 1, 2015.

•Gain media coverage of an action-oriented service project.•Establish a club website or enhance your existing site using the current Voice and Visual Identity Guidelines.•Start or update an electronic club newsletter using the current Voice and Visual Identity Guidelines. Publicize it to non-Rotarians and local media.

•Use social media to publicize your club’s activities, enhance Public Image and recruit prospective members. •Hold at least one fellowship, networking, or collaborative event that is open to the public. Use the opportunity to introduce non-Rotarians to Rotary.•Have at least one media person as a member of your club.•Post at least one project in Rotary Showcase.
