What is BYOD?

• BYOD stands for Bring Your Own Device

• Students bring their own computing devices, such as laptops or tablets, to school for educational purposes

Why BYOD?

●Access to more devices than the school can provide

●The ubiquity of wireless internet-enabled devices

● Student comfort level with their own devices

● Student care for their own devices

●Modern personal devices have powerful applications in school

●Cost savings for families who currently own an acceptable device

Why BYOD?

●Opportunity to teach proper use of personal technology (Digital Citizenship)

What is Required?

• A personal computing device – tablet or laptop (no phones) • Minimum screen size of 7 inches (8 inches preferred)

• Ability to connect to Wi-Fi effectively

• Battery life of at least 5-6 hours (back-up battery is acceptable)

• A physical keyboard

• Headset or ear buds

• Padded laptop sleeve or hard case for transporting
