Project Details

New chiller building on top of existing processing plant, with a fl oor area of 350m2 and internal ceiling height of 7 metres.

Construction consisted of a large structural steel truss structure supported by existing columns, enclosed with both 150mm thick cold store panels and metal sheeting.

The suspended fl oor structure consisted of a steel frame base with compressed fi bre cement lining, glass wool and cold store panels for insulation purposes, and a reinforced concrete slab fi nished with an epoxy compound.

Internally, an additional steel framed structure fi xed to concrete up-stands poured integral with the fl oor slab, accommodated the bird handling conveyor system imported from Europe.

Building works were scheduled to enable the processing plant to remain operating at full capacity throughout construction.
