Equalization BasinEqualization Basin

• Designed to eliminate need to discharge raw sewage into the Maumee River during heavy rains.

• Will hold wastewater at “peak” times when flow of waste exceeds sewer system capacity.

• When the rain lets up, wastewater in the basin sent to plant for treatment

• To be located at Brookford Park ball diamond site• Tanks from old Toledo Water Plant currently

located there

• 3 million gallon storage capacity

• 120 ft. x 240 ft.

• 17 ft. deep

• New sewer from Beverly pump station on west side of Anthony Wayne Trail down Brookford to the Equalization Basin

• To be located on south side of Brookford

• Shouldn’t disturb street – except for crossings at OLPH and Island Avenue

• Traffic maintained• Will work with committee to minimize disruption

New Relief SewersNew Relief Sewers

• From River Road, Midland or Hemlock down River Road to Brookford

• New water line will be installed at same time• Should help resolve water pressure problems

• Preferred sewer location is in east lane of River Road
