Student’s Responsibilities ■ Come to school ready to learn and work.■ Copy homework in your planner.■ Read every night for 30 minutes.■ Complete homework and study for tests in all

classes.■ Turn homework in on time.■ Bring books and supplies every day.■ Remember: Even when you are absent the work

continues and you are expected to complete it and get it in. Late work is unacceptable.

Parent’s Responsibilities ■ Make sure student has a place to study and

completes homework.■ Check the planner daily.■ Ask to see the completed homework.■ Make sure students have necessary supplies.■ Ask the teacher questions if you have concerns.

Email teachers through Aeries parent portal.■ Check grades and assignments on Aeries. ■ Make sure child is in school, on time, daily.

Homework■ Homework will be given every night

including weekends.■ Reading for 30 minutes EVERY night is

required. ■ Homework is due the following day unless

a different due date is given.■ Students will have 2 hours of homework

daily.

are sent home regularly. Please sign and return them promptly.

■ Contracts will be sent home a week after the contract ends for a parent signature:

GradingAssessments

■ Assessments will include traditional multiple choice, short answer and essay tests as well as projects and performance-based evaluations.

Grading Scale

■ Standard Grading Scale is used: A=90-100% B=80-89% C=70-79% D=60-69% F=0-59%

Work Habits

■ Work Habits Grade is based on work completed.

■ E=90-100%, S=70-89%, N=60-69%, U=0-59%

■ Citizenship Grades are based on the ROAR Code of Conduct and participation in class.

All School Awards (First Semester)

Honor roll: 3.0 GPA for the semester, no “D’s or F’s”, no “N’s or U’s” for any class and any grade report

High Honors: 3.5 GPA for the semester, no “D’s or F’s”, no “N’s or U’s” for any class and any grade report

Highest Honors: 4.0 GPA for the semester, no “D’s or F’s”, no “N’s or U’s” for any class and any grade report

A student cannot be on the Intervention Team list anytime during that semester

All School Awards (End of year/Last day of school)

Tiger Honor Society: Given to students who have had A’s on every contract/progress report 1-7

Students may not be on the Intervention Team list

Accelerated Reader (AR)■ Requirement: 30 minutes each day■ The AR grade is worth 10% of of your child’s

entire grade.■ AR grade is determined by the number of points

earned in a contract (percentage of goal met)■ The goal is 10 points every contract

■ Reading club may occur during lunch or after school. We will read a novel together to help students complete their reading assignment.

How to help your child complete AR:■ Make sure your child reads 30 minutes every night■ Provide a quiet place for your child to read■ Monitor their progress on the “AR Home Connect”
