Rheumatoid Arthritis Definition: a type of chronic arthritis
that can occur in all of the joints in a persons body that can cause wide spread pain and inflammation.
This disease is more commonly known as RA
Signs and Symptoms:
The main signs and symptoms are:
Joint pain and swelling
Stiffness Fatigue
Signs and Symptoms: Some signs and
symptoms are: Slight fever Weight loss Weight gain Depression
Signs and Symptoms: Some signs and
symptoms are: Muscle weakness Hoarseness Painful lumps
under the skin
Signs and Symptoms: Some signs and
symptoms are: Eye pain or
redness Shortness of
breath Chest pain Dry eyes
Signs and Symptoms: Some signs and
symptoms are: Carpal tunnel
syndrome Some symptoms
come in episodes or flares
No two people will have the exact same symptoms or signs
Prevent and Control You can not prevent
this disease but it can be controlled my medications used by many cancer patients and other medications. There are medications that will ease some of the pain and swelling but it will not go away.
Medical Advances: There are clinical
trials around the world to try and find a cause or a medication that will help but as of right now there is no new medical advances.
Insurance Companies and Support Groups:
The insurance companies cover some of the costs but the prescriptions still have steep copays.
There are many support groups through Facebook and through different hospitals.
