2. PROPERTIES OF MATERIALS (Propiedades de los materiales)

Transparent (Transparente)

Bendy (Flexible)

Rigid (Rígido)

Soft (Blando)

Hard (Duro)

Some materials are better for a purpose than others.(Algunos materiales

son mejor para un uso que otros).

Windows are made of glass because glass is transparent.(Las ventanas son

hechas de cristal porque el cristal es transparente).

Houses are made from bricks because bricks are rigid. (Las casas son hechas

de ladrillos porque los ladrillos son rígidos).

3. MAGNETISM. (Magnetismo)

Some objects are attracted to magnets. (Algunos objetos son atraídos por imanes).

These objects are magnetic. (Estos objetos son magnéticos)

Only objects made from metal are magnetic.(Solamente los objetos hechos de

metal son magnéticos).

4. BEND, TWIST, STRETCH, SQUASH (Doblar, Torcer, Estirar, Aplastar)

The shape of some materials can be changed by bending, twisting,

stretching or squashing them.(La forma de algunos materiales puede

cambiarse doblándolos, torciéndolos, estirándolos o aplastándolos)

5. NATURAL AND MANUFACTURED MATERIALS

Natural materials are made by nature. ( Los materiales naturales están hechos de la naturaleza)

Manufactured materials are made by people.(Los materiales manufacturados están hechos por las personas)

Many materials become hard when cooled and soft when heated.(Algunos materiales se vuelven duros cuando hace frío y blandos cuando hace calor.)

Different materials are used for different purposes. (Diferentes materiales son usados para propósitos diferentes)
