5. Alternative Launch Point There is a second launch point proposed in the southern side of Loch Awe L240 which is also the subject of an objection and the Council is proposing it for deletion as well. Of the two L013 is least appropriate for designation.
6. Consultation with Objectors & Other Interested Parties Summary of responses
7. Access Officer’s Initial Comments The presence of the business owned by Mr & Mrs Brolly is considered to conflict with the designation of L013 as a Launching Point for a number of reasons. Access to the Launching Point is blocked by a locked gate and there is no suitable public parking. Although there was support for this Launch Point during the informal consultation there was no representation supporting it during the Formal Consultation.
Therefore the Access Team recommends that Launch Point L013 is deleted from the Core Path Plan.

9. Access Officer’s Final Recommendations Delete this launching point from the Core Paths Plan although there remains a need to provide a launching point at the southern end of Loch Awe to allow proper access for canoeists and other non-motorised boats onto one of Scotland’s largest freshwater lochs. It has been suggested that it would be possible to develop a Paddle Trail along the loch which could attract a significant number of visitors to the area.
