Introduction
Welcome back. You have reached the final Report of this series!
In this Report, you will discover yet another revenue stream that does not come from selling
things stored in your home, knowledge stored in your mind, or wisdom stored on blogs of
the internet. Income discussed here is derived wholly from talking with people.
That’s right!
You are about to discover that you can make money simply by sharing news about
something with other people and then helping them share the same news to other people.
The concept has been around for half a century and predates personal computers. If you
think it is "network marketing", you have thought correctly.
For most people the words, "network marketing" carries a sensation of feeling.
This is because the business is a people business, and it is often emotionally associated with
individuals with whom there may have been prior experience. This earlier experience may
have been good, and it may not have been so good. Either way, emotion is always involved
because it’s a people business, and it’s full of personality.
If you want 1 year of prosperity, grow
grain. If you want 10 years of prosperity,
grow trees. If you want 100 years of
prosperity, grow people.
- Chinese proverb

For those who are looking for a fast, get-rich method to wealth network marketing is not
nearly as effective as trying real estate or high-risk investments in stock options.
However, for those who can exercise the principles of stamina, perseverance, and
determination (in other words, simply refusing to give up), this revenue stream has the
potential to be a lucrative opportunity that just grows and grows with time. There are
simple tools to practicing this art and once you master them your chances of success are
usually highly rewarded.

Network Marketing -
Looking "Under The Hood"
With all the excitement, and in some cases, misinformation, over this revenue stream, it
makes sense to grasp the network marketing system before getting too far into the
discussion. So, let’s take a moment to "look under the hood" of network marketing to see
how the "engine" of the business operates. After all, as an income stream, you want to
know how the thing "runs".
First, remember this business system was originally developed long before personal
computers were invented. It uses the barter system.
Bartering is as old as the Mediterranean merchants who serviced the ancient Egyptians.
Simply, bartering is doing a favor for one person in return for another favor. It originally
replaced the need for exchanging money, but today it is used as a way one individual can
thank another for increasing the value of his trade or business.
Let’s try an example:
Consider going to your Uncle Wilson’s street corner
novelty store where you find he has a coffee café that
serves superb coffee at below market price simply to
draw clients to the store. So, you decide to tell your
friends at work that they can stop by that store on the
way to work for their morning coffee and get a great deal!
All of a sudden, Uncle Wilson starts seeing business build
because people are not just buying the coffee but also
grabbing something profitable while they are passing
through the store. Uncle Wilson offers you "thank you"
rewards of 25% commission for each of the sales he earns
as a result of any sale you send to his store. All they have
to do is mention your name. Soon, you are receiving a
wonderful, monthly payment from Uncle Wilson. All you
did was send out announcements to everyone at work
and on your social network to mention your name as they
visit his store.
7
©VOGenesis.com |
This concept is affiliate marketing.
It started with the Mediterranean merchants, and then network marketing adapted it. The
affiliate marketing method of network marketing must be successful because there are even
companies on the internet, such as Amazon, that were invented because of it.
So, how do the Mediterranean merchants, "thank you" rewards and network marketing all
fit together "under the hood" of this business system’s machinery?
Network marketing involves people. Okay. You know that already. It involves people who
are excited about a business opportunity; because it has a terrific product or service, and
who simply want to tell a few other people about it.
That’s it? That’s pretty much it.
Still, the approach used by almost all the network marketing companies today is a marketing
or business opportunity approach.
Better defined, this means people given the "privilege" to hear about the business are
offered an inside view through any number of portals. They can be a flash drive, an SIM
card, a DVD, or an access code to a business website. This offer requires the individual to
respond to the request or accept the offer to receive the information to view.
If they don’t request the information, they don’t learn about the opportunity and the
network marketer does not invest time marketing to that person. But, for those who do
express an interest, these special people are given the opportunity to learn about the
business.
At this point an introductory membership, usually $50 - $100, is offered. The membership
includes advanced materials to guide them through the process to present the same
introductory process to two other individuals. Membership also promises the new entrant
wholesale prices to purchase all the wonderful products that the network offers, which was
the original enticement for joining.
Network marketing is a people business.
Thus, with new membership comes sponsorship. So, the new member is not left to attempt
sharing the "good news" about the networking opportunity to two other individuals without
strong support. No! The sponsor is obligated to do that task for the new member!
8
©VOGenesis.com |
The sole task of the new member is identifyingtwo new people, and then getting the three
(candidate, new member, and sponsor) linked so the sponsor can introduce the business.
This entails listing about 100 - 150 contacts from personal encounters and making the
introduction to the sponsor. It is then the sponsor’s task to share the "good news".
Once two people from the list of 100 - 150 contacts have been added to the network
marketing membership, the new member is finally allowed to begin presenting the network
market on behalf of these two, new members.
These two soon sign on to the network their own two new members, which mean the
original member now has six "downline" distributors in their business. These six distributors
begin purchasing small amounts of the company’s product and this creates multiplied
affiliate commission (or "thank you") revenue for the original member.
The focus of network marketing is marketing a business, not selling products.
The idea is the products sell themselves simply because they are high quality and reasonably
priced for frequent purchase. As a result, network marketers do not need to worry about
personal embarrassment, which is a feature of performance sales.
Instead, network marketers are interviewing or marketing for business positions with their
personal business. In reality, these new distributors will become the backbone of the
network, so it really is an interview.
Thus, it may take a little while to find the two suitable distributors out of the list of 100 - 150
initially itemized. It would be statistically improbable to find these two individuals with the
first two attempts. For this reason, the simple characteristics of stamina, perseverance, and
determination (mentioned earlier) are required for true success in this business!

Once Nondescript Owners of A
Chain Of Retail Stores, Now An
Emblem Of Success
At one point, John and Giselle Sexmith were no different than most everyone else.
They experienced overwhelming debt, business stresses, and a dream that was not getting
fulfilled. After all, the Sexmiths owned a small chain of retail stores and the headaches were
enormous. It was 1985, and they were open to new opportunities. Then, a friend introduced
them to a new business opportunity, a company called Nu Skin Enterprises, and after
depositing $50 for membership, the rest is history.
John and Giselle found their inner drive to help others and deployed that to build success in
others who joined their network, Global Partners Network.
They had no special education for this sort of thing.
They had no background in network marketing.
They certainly did not have all the contacts that they thought they needed to build a
successful network business.
Most of all, they had no time, because they were still operating the small chain of retail
stores, and raising five children.
Over time and with a focus on productive actions, the Sexsmiths quickly realized a life of
financial freedom, personal freedom, independence, and choice.
Today they are classified by Nu Skin Enterprises as "NTC Ambassador" and "$20 Million
Circle" earners, averaging $175,000 in personal, monthly revenue. Another top distributor in
their network is their son, Jonathan.
International online training and support are regular features of John and Giselle as they
teach and inspire others to live a successful life, a life that most people only dream about.
You can read more about John and Giselle’s success and their recommendations for your
success in their book, "Networking the Natural Extension of You".

Why Network Marketing?
Why network marketing?
Risk.
More precisely, the absence of risk.
You may or may not have ventured into the world of
entrepreneurship before. If you have, you know it
requires getting a detailed business plan, presenting it
to investors, getting funding from at least one and
hopefully more than one investor, and finally opening for
business. Then, there is the stress of satisfying those
investors for you to prove you have designed a superb enterprise.
With network marketing, you don’t have any of that risk.
Instead, all you have is an access or membership fee. The expense is sometimes $50 but is
usually about $100 - 200, which provides access to the marketing resources and wholesale
prices needed to make an entrepreneurial success. Of course, there are never any true
guarantees in life, and network marketing never hands you success on a silver platter. You
must provide the stamina, perseverance, and determination to see your own business
within the network through to success.
It would not be fair to say that network marketing products, as well as their services, are not
in high demand.
Quite the reverse.
The very design of each network marketing plan is to provide its distributors with products
that literally sell themselves. High quality, reasonable price, and rapid turnover are the
descriptions of any product sold by network marketing thus assuring you maximum
opportunity for success.
So, look at the network market you are considering exploring into. It is a life-long business
relationship. Ensure you find multiple benefits for you and your customers. You must be
personally captivated by its product’s value.

The secret to network marketing is its residual income. It pays while you sleep!
Music writers and movie actors enjoy residual income through royalties. Your utility
companies don’t hesitate to charge you each month a residual fee for their having built all
the waterway and electrical power grid infrastructure. Even pharmaceuticals enjoy a
residual in their prescriptions to recoup much more than the cost of their research for
bringing it to market because they get to add the costs of every attempted effort that never
went to market.
Put briefly, residual income is the money that you receive in return for your affiliate
marketing efforts, described earlier with the example of Uncle Wilson.
But now, you are not just introducing a corner shopping store’s great coffee and novelty for
a royalty "thank you". Instead, you are with network marketing enjoying the residual income
from the new distributors who decide to join your network and then begin purchasing a few
network products.
When you start a career, whether it is in computer science or law or medicine or heating
and air conditioning, you have a good idea what your income opportunities will be. The
markets may influence the categories and their upper limits over time. If you are in the
military or the government for your career, your income is defined in great detail. An
enterprise built using the network marketing model has no ceiling, no upper limit, no money
cap.
When you learn and adopt the skills needed to be a gifted network marketer, you
experience limitless income potential. Revenue is capped only by what you set in your mind
and psyche. The skills for successful network marketing are not required before entering the
business. That is the task of your "upline" sponsor to teach as it only reinforces income for
them!
All businesses thus far described in these reports have had one thing in common.
Success creates monumental demands on a
staff of one. Thus, monumental growth in
most entrepreneurial models requires one
to draw upon private contractors and
employees. The enterprise becomes massive.
Then, you must decide to divest yourself of
parts of your success and allow others to
manage the business while you enjoy the
residual income.
12
©VOGenesis.com |
Network marketing as a business model starts from the first day divesting the workload to
separate businesses. Each of your downline distributors owns their independent marketing
enterprise, which you draw residual income. This system resolves the top-heavy issue all
successful enterprises eventually face as the founder divests the business into residual
income and moves on to another business idea to create. Simple, clean, uncomplicated,
efficient.
Older model network marketing businesses had one major flaw - inventory.
Each distributor, once signed onto the network, was provoked and prodded to feel guilty
into purchasing a large start-up inventory of products that were then somehow supposed to
be sold. In the end, each distributor found the process was all about selling the product to
the distributor and ended up using each of the products for themselves.
Most of today’s network marketing organizations follow a no-inventory business model.
Why? The focus has changed from sales of product to marketing of the business.
New members invest their effort getting interviews of "worthy" individuals to join and
experience the same value and benefits they share. The high quality, rapid turnover
products are purchased for distributor use, only. Those few individuals who become only
customers are simply those who find they like the high-quality products but don’t choose to
participate in the network membership.
Network marketing has been able to shift focus from a sales model to a marketing model
because technology has removed the need for distributors to be the local warehouse. Today
we have the internet and drop shipping, web conferencing, and high-speed internet chatting
by smartphone. This technology has erased most operating costs that were once a major
barrier to entry or initial success.
Once the new distributor’s list of contacts is linked to the upline sponsor, their assertive
support usually generates rapid revenue to recoup start-up costs. This strategy streamlines
each new entrant past the unconvinced or hesitant first stage.
Networking becomes easy, after that, as downline distributors leverage the power of the
first person through each of the other distributors. Sales managers depend on the leverage
of salespersons to do their selling for them so they can get large commission payments.
Networking deploys leverage using the much more efficient marketing model, helping new
distributors create businesses and satisfying customers with products they truly need.
13
©VOGenesis.com |
The erasure of local inventory has given network distributors the freedom of portability.
Armed with smartphones and internet technology entrepreneurs can market their business
opportunity to whomever they interview, wherever they are. Regardless the location of the
potential entrant to the network or the established distributor, the network remains as
portable as the internet will permit.
Network marketing, like all other entrepreneurial projects, has wonderful taxation benefits.
Unlike employment income, earnings from network marketing are subject to business
deductions. Costs of doing business are usually appreciated by federal and local
governments and discounted in their tax code.
Happiness is often defined as freedom.
Freedom from oversight, freedom from
financial obligations, freedom from
health or fitness limitations, freedom to
spend time with family.
Network marketing is one of the few
entrepreneurial business models with a
proven track record of over half a century
that produces a lifestyle of happiness,
which is independent of the financial
rewards. Networking depends on people
who constantly support and find ways to
help each other achieve success.
No stronger source of happiness is found than in a family that continually grows to ensure
the individual is never alone.

Which Network System Is Best?
Obviously, this Report cannot tell you which network to select to dedicate your income
efforts.
After all, aligning with a network requires a little homework because your choice in a
network will be equivalent to marriage. You will be wedded to that network for the next
twenty or thirty years. Why?
The entire income stream of networking depends on building a team, a network of similarly
minded distributors who sell the same product that you sell. The product is necessarily
priced reasonably low and designed to be sold with high frequency to generate strong,
stable sales. But, still it is the people you endorse to join you along the way to enjoy the
same benefits that you enjoy who will be the scaffolding that supports your growing empire
of passive income.
You will not want to walk away from that steadily climbing revenue stream anytime soon or
in the future!
With that in mind, there are a few key considerations before you make the plunge.
First, you will want to get a good grasp of your intended networking company’s market. This
means you want to know what it sells, the products and services, and to whom. More
specifically, you want to know how products and services are distributed to people, such as
to distributors only or also to open market customers.
Ensure the income from selling products to the open market exceeds that of income
dependent on product purchases by downline distributors. Similarly, the profit of the
network must be in the products, not in the membership fees of new distributors.
Observe that no two network distributorships are structured the same. Some offer a binary
system that requires the new entrant to sponsor only two distributors and then build a
network downline from those two branches.
Binary systems offer programs in retail or wholesale that have different sets of benefits and
services to both the distributor and the customer. This business structure, unfortunately,
permits a few branched networks of the organization to employ business practices that are
not aligned to legal, corporate mandates.
15
©VOGenesis.com |
The oldest and most stable network structure is something called a stair-step or breakaway
plan.
The beauty of the breakaway plan is your commission rate
increases as more downline distributors are added.
When a critical mass is reached for a downline to
become independent, and direct a network division
of their own, they break away.
This plan depends on downline distributors
performing all the sales and obtaining all the new
distributors while the upline distributors invest
their time feeding the network with positive
feedback and success coaching.
Forced matrix networks are a heavily teamwork-designed structure.
Applying the model of a matrix or grid, new distributors enter the business along a direct
link to the original distributor. Then, after the initial grid or structure of direct distributors is
filled, succeeding distributors then are added downline to the original matrix team. There
can be a high investment in money and time before true rewards are realized, depending on
how the contract and business model is structured.
Still another network model is the unilevel plan.
This structure, designed to be easy to explain to new entrants, offers a flat commission rate.
Ranking for inner circles and higher commission rates is eliminated. This concept was
thought to be fair, but it forced distributors to remain "shallow", seeking more and more
directly linked distributors rather than assisting downline distributors to build their
businesses.
Most unilevel organizations have adopted a hybrid that applies varying compensation plans
such as the following:
Fast start commission - A fast start commission is given for a predetermined dollar
(or quantity) amount of product sold by a new distributor or specific revenue-earned
amount during their first months in business.
Pool bonuses - Pool bonuses are a small (incentive only) pool of money distributed to
those distributors who reach a preset level of productivity.
16
©VOGenesis.com |
Infinity commissions - Infinity commissions are given for the collective productivity of
the network. Infinity commissions are an attempt to restore the unilevel to a
breakaway network structure.
Do invest time reviewing your prospective network to see how you receive your earned
money and how your team of distributors collect their revenue to sustain your overall
revenue stream. Do ensure that the payment plan the network marketing company uses is
secure and fair.
It’s perfectly acceptable to challenge the network recruiter with detailed questions during
the presentation. You are committing to a contract that will easily invest more than twenty
or thirty years of your life. And, you are within your rights to ask to have a lawyer review the
membership contract if, after fully reading the document, you want a second opinion.
Management of the networking company is critical.
These individuals sustain the marketing system’s stability as well as the way new products
and services are introduced to the market. You do not want to select a network market that
has an ethical or corporate accounting complication that results in people suddenly
abandoning the network and collapse of your revenue stream. You can monitor this, if it is
based in the USA, by checking the company with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC),
scanning each of the state’s Attorney Generals’ offices, and reviewing for reports in the
Better Business Bureau.
Rapid turnover of products and services is the secret in network marketing.
So, select a company that has a system of products and services that you and your
distributors can sell with little to no effort and sell over and over again with rapid repetition.
Good examples of easy-to-sell, good-quality, high turnover products are:
Jewelry.
Perfume and cologne.
Vitamin supplements.
17
©VOGenesis.com |
Other high turnover examples include basic food items packaged as gourmet such as coffee
and restaurant vouchers. The principle of selecting a networking system is to find a product
or service that you personally like so you have no difficulty representing it. Your downline
distributors and open market customers will quickly detect an individual who does not
believe what they are selling.
It cannot be emphasized enough the importance of corporate management stability and the
leadership of your upline distributors. You will be entering the network somewhere midlevel
and thus be subject to the corporate culture of the network branch in which you join. So,
both the corporate and "line" management must have your success as their desire for you
to select that network market.
Use the following factor to calculate your return on investment, which is the best common
denominator for measuring network markets. Document immediately the number of
individuals you need to enroll into the network before you can collect any revenue. Most
respectable networks require no more than two individuals to enroll before you can collect
income, and you should not settle for anything less!

From Rags To Riches
Organo Gold was not the first thing on Holton
Buggs’ mind as a young boy in the projects of
Florida.
His mother invested the bulk of her time living a
single mother’s life leaving her son in
substandard day care so she could work. The day
care worker preached to Holton that his life was
essentially like that of a chicken in a chicken coop
as she watched soap operas all day.
Instead, Holton Buggs wanted bigger and better
things out of life and chose to start the
entrepreneurial life at the age of 14. He chose
hair cutting as his first enterprise and then
branched out to selling candy. From there, he
learned the concept of leveraging his assets by
getting other people to sell the candy for him and
hired a dozen children to duplicate his efforts.
Holton Buggs was able to get an engineering degree in college, which opened doors for him
to start a furniture business. He chose this because he saw store ownership as more
lucrative than flat income as an engineer. Still with the complications of a brick and mortar
business that is subject to the downturns in the economy, Holton Buggs soon found his
furniture store out of business. At this time, a friend suggested the concept of network
marketing to step out of the limitations he saw himself currently facing.
Holton Buggs learned four key mantras from his billionaire mentor as he slowly started to
grow his Network Marketing business:
First, he learned one never gets what is wanted, but rather what is pictured. When
you are looking down, you will miss all the opportunities waiting for you above.
Instead, you will only see life as it exists below… it is that sense of fear you
experience looking down while walking along a high ledge.
19
©VOGenesis.com |
Second, he learned in advance that much must be invested to reap a huge harvest
later. He describes the Chinese bamboo tree, which is noted to invest years of
subterranean root growth that makes it appear dormant. But instead, this
investment of initial root growth permits the tree to explode vertically in just a short
period
Third, he discovered that you only attain the level of your expectation. Therefore,
seek a mentor who has already mastered what you desire in life and emulate
everything that person says and does to recreate the experience.
Fourth, he learned that without vision, hope is lost, and the past, with all its
inevitable failures, becomes the focus of constant review. This is an extension of a
similarly worded Proverb in 29:18 - "Where there is no vision, the people perish."
Holton Buggs learned much from that network marketing organization, except there was
one problem.
It suddenly struggled with ethical complications in the news that destroyed sales and
undermined Buggs' network of distributors. He had another friend who had recently
introduced him to a relatively new company that sold a novel product, which met the "low-
cost, frequent replacement (high turnover)" criteria of a successful network marketing
product. Organo Gold sold supreme quality coffee.
Holton Buggs is no longer living in the Ponce De Leon projects in Tampa, Florida. Now, he is
Vice President of Organo Gold. He managed to enter the company when it was relatively
new and work hard growing his network of distributors into a large component of the
overall business.
20

How To Start Network Marketing
Holton Buggs just makes you want to leap off your chair and sign on with your favorite
networking organization, doesn’t he?
You have already learned about the different network systems and probably have a good
idea which system appeals most. Here are what you do next:
STEP 1:
That leaves open the most obvious first step: find the right company that matches the
network system you desire. Use some common sense in addition to the instructions
provided earlier.
An organization that has only been in operation for five years or less is probably not one
that is best suited for risking a twenty-, thirty-, (or more) year investment. Yes, they may
advertise that you are entering at their company’s foundation and have the chance to grow
with them. But, this is not always wise especially if they are still privately organized and do
not yet appear on the public securities exchanges where financial statements must be made
transparent every 90 days.
STEP 2:
Your second step, once deciding on the company that will support your network of
distributors, is to find a good mentor.
This person may or may not necessarily be your direct sponsor, but they should be direct
upline to you. That way, the mentor has an invested interest in ensuring you succeed. That
mentor will be your ever-present source of positive energy and dynamic insight to build
your business.
STEP 3:
The third step is obvious.
Networking involves products, which you
must know, inside and out. You must become
an authority on your products to give them
validity to your customers. The truth is always
credible. Ignorance is quickly detected.
21
©VOGenesis.com |
It’s the products that produce the real revenue, not the memberships of new distributors. If
it’s the other way around, you have chosen an unstable organization, and you want to look
elsewhere.
STEP 4:
This brings up the fourth step. This is your most important and often overlooked step that
separates successful from unsuccessful entrepreneurship: a business plan.
Remember that despite the fact that you are joined to a marketing organization you are
building your own networking business. You want to establish a pace, part-time or full-time,
that is consistent with success given your current conditions and personality. It will have its
own identity and its culture like Global Partners Network, which is the corporation created
by John and Giselle Sexsmith within Nu Skin Enterprises. Most forward thinking networking
entrepreneurs establish a corporation of some kind as soon as they see their introductory
phase become a true business.
So, ensure your business plan has all the essential features needed for success. These
include:
Mission and vision statements (long term goals).
Credos, to give definition to the mission statement.
A definition of the intended market.
Document how your network organization and its products and services satisfy the needs of
your market. Then analyze the market to understand the impact of competing products and
services followed by writing a sales plan that overcomes this competition. Include both the
networks that may compete directly and suppliers of products and services outside the
network marketing system.
STEP 5:
Education is key to the entrepreneurial success of any
specialty - It’s your fifth step.
Network marketing is no exception. There are unique
features to networking that make the business more
productive and learning these skills is your gateway to
success.
22
©VOGenesis.com |
It may be webinars. It may be conferences held locally. It may be internet-based software
that enhances your networking business effectiveness.
However you receive the tools to work your business better, reach out and get them! Each
educational encounter provides you new mentors and new resources for success.
STEP 6:
Your sixth step is lead-building.
Just as you learned in Report 2, the importance of building an internet registry of people
who use your blog so it is with finding the lifeblood of network marketing: leads.
Leads, on average, produce about one to two distributors for every 100. So, you need a
strong supply of leads from many sources.
Try your social networks online as a first start.
YouTube is a superb place to keep your webinars and it also offers a chat service to redirect
people to your website and answer their questions. Don’t forget the local group networks,
which uncover like-minded individuals. Branch out into local advertising, but consider
internet advertisements as well.
Some freelancer sites will permit solicitations if projects are defined as clear jobs, which
permit individuals to interview for the network organization. Still, you are best served
developing yourself as an authority about something that people will listen. If you are not

presenting YouTube webinars, give local event presentations and then casually reference
your products (that you have studied well) as part of your presentation.
Often community service events are where people gather to experience new things as are
church- or mosque-related functions. Many distributors use their original trade or
profession, such as electrical engineering or medicine or air conditioning repair to command
an audience.
The straightforward telephone call is also successful if you remember the "1 - 2 distributor
in 100" rule.
Still, it is the face-to-face contact that has and continues to garnish the most success. With
that in mind, do ensure you have a business card or an electronic business card memory fob
for others to scan and upload with their smartphones. Remember, you are marketing, not
selling, and these individuals will contact you if they are interested.
Still, do not ignore the lessons learned in Report 2:
Have a company blog online to promote your network.
Do follow up with your contacts using an auto-responder email and invite them to
learn about the business when people visit the site, leaving their name and email in
return for something of value you have given them.
Learn the concepts of the elevator pitch. This critical marketing tool, usually taught
by networking organizations, seeks to display the most important features of the
organization to a prospective candidate in as little as 45 seconds. Still, most leads
require more than one introduction to achieve a successful conversion to join,
purchase, or decide on anything as they consider the proposition. So, do ensure you
repeat your presentations at least once!
STEP 7:
Your seventh step is adding new members to your network.
Employ a marketing approach that interviews prospective candidates to join. Hallmarks of
individuals who usually succeed in this business are those who relate well with others,
demonstrate a teamwork spirit, and understand the basic principles needed for selling
products and services.

Your mentoring these new members will take a time commitment.
Your time, however, is invested in individuals who will produce income for you. Your
network is a team. A team takes the time to put together, make it structurally sound and
watch it perform well. Do ensure you are with a network organization that provides
sufficient commissions to your downline distributors that will promote your success.
STEP 8:
Your eighth step is to ensure you satisfy all legal and governmental obligations of your
business.
As an entrepreneur, you are operating an independent organization within the network
market. It must pay federal, state or province taxes.
Investing in a quality accountant is usually wise since time-management principles dictate
that your time is better suited to marketing your business.

How To Succeed At Network
Marketing
Honesty is the best policy.
Honesty requires nothing for an excuse and is always
interpreted as a sign of value. When approaching the
business of networking, remember the principles of
stamina, perseverance, and determination.
Set measurable milestones to reinforce reasonable
goals.
This is an enterprise that slowly starts. Many
distributors resign within the first 90 to 180 days and
declare the business model a failure without trying.
But with time, effort, and dedication to the teachings of strong mentors success is fully
achievable. This is not a straight line business model but rather an exponential one. Holton
Buggs’ description of the Chinese bamboo tree’s lifecycle best describes the imagery needed
to see the growth model.
Clear and valued incentives for customers are the foundation for success.
Remember your customers are both future network distributors and product customers.
Seek to promote benefits for others rather than sales features of the system. Benefits alone
are what will trigger value in the consumer, so that must be the focus. Resonating benefits
that the other person wants elicits an emotional response that enables a commitment to
ownership.
Your network of distributors is your lifeblood.
Seek reliable partners to share the building together of your business. These people are
your assured growth. Create for them from your business plan a clear mission and vision
that will define your marketing strategy. Hold to that vision and keep everyone in your
network attuned to that focal point.

Protect your business with sound accounting. Maintain your taxation obligations. Your
downline distributors will depend on your stability as much as you depend on your upline
sponsors.
Above all, remain current with updates within your network organization. This speaks to
both your knowledge base on the products and services and supporting your network’s
distributors.
Begin your business with the full knowledge that you will not convince everyone to join the
market network or purchase your products. You are happy when you get one or two people
to sign onto your network for every 100 to whom you mention the business. You will not be
frustrated when 90% of the audience appears disinterested because that is a statistical
reality.
Instead, you are only interested in those people who have demonstrated an interest and
have reached out to you to learn more about what you have to offer. This is the most
positive culture to operate a business because you are only working with a clientele that
expresses an interest.
Success means remembering this is your independent business. You are an entrepreneur.
For this, you have control over your own time. That means you must exercise your discipline
of time management.
Time management includes things such as:
Setting the workload so that it does not overwhelm you or cause you to burn out
before you start to see the exponential growth that comes only with time.
Scheduling quality time to relax with the family.
Recharging your body’s reserves.
Eating balanced and nutritious meals, remembering to exercise moderately along
the pathway to success.
Many of the network organizations offer products that assist in protecting your health so
use your own company's products wisely!

Approach the process of reaching out to leads methodically. With a thoughtful plan, you can
conquer the network system and retain plenty of air to breathe! Try a plan that invests six
hours a week with one day off. If you think you can manage ten hours a week and work for
90 minutes a day, set that as your maximum limit.
Your mindset should be to follow measurable milestones that you can and will achieve. So,
go ahead and set $200, maybe $300 as your first financial milestone. This is your first
month’s paycheck! Remember, you want to see success, and attaining success requires
meeting and exceeding your expectations.
For your first month, you might not have 100 - 150 contacts to give the sponsor, let alone
yourself. You set a milestone for only 30 leads who you think might have an interest in the
network.
Meanwhile, you collect your starter membership materials that you will use to present the
business to these individuals. It may be a brochure, an access code to the internet for a
webinar, a thumb drive or a DVD. In today’s market, the DVD is less likely to be offered as
many people don’t have DVD drives. Nonetheless you commit to get these into the hands of
30 new leads (you are now at 60 leads) at a rate of about one per day so that by the end of
the month they are all given away.
Now, you prepare from the original list of 30 leads. You use the other starter membership
materials that present the business using a brochure, an access code to the internet for a
webinar, a thumb drive or other format. You package, prepare, or process these such that
you send them directly to the original list of 30 leads. Once sent, you send a notice to these
people to expect the information and give them an approximate time (five days) when you
will contact them to get their feedback.
Applying a marketing approach (not a sales approach), you interview these 30 leads at the
five-day mark from expected receipt of the information. This tactic suggests you let them
give you feedback about the presentation of the network marketing plan. You are wise and
understand that those who are truly interested will be getting the full presentation from
your sponsor. All you do at this time is schedule the few that show an interest and say a
hearty "thank you for the feedback" to the others!
Now, with the one, maybe two, people who have shown an interest, you schedule them to
meet with your sponsor. Your sponsor may present by the internet or in person. Either way,
your task is completed! It’s the sponsor’s job, now, to clearly present the business!

Do note that you are only expecting at most one person from that original 30 people to
show just an interest in the business. You still have the other 30 leads that you are handing
out materials or uploading or contacting each day of the next month. These may yield the
other person who demonstrates an interest. Again, statistics reveals only one or two out of
100 will be responsive and join the organization. So, with this knowledge, hope is on your
side!
Once you have built the comfort and knowledge base needed to present the network
organization, you will want to move ahead faster and present the network without the aid
of your sponsor. Still, you will find that your sponsor will strive to support you vigorously
since your success is their success. This means more guidance and mentoring are offered to
improve your number of leads from the original 60 to reach 100 - 150 and beyond.
You will learn more and more tools to make your contacting leads easier. Again, you
remember that only a few individuals respond positively. Of those who do respond, you
must present the business at least twice, as humans are distrustful to a fault and require
hearing and seeing the truths of your business additional times just to understand it clearly.
Your sponsor will help to remind you of these realities. The most important reality is that
you only need a few downline distributors to directly join your network. The remaining leads
you support your downline distributors is to build their network, which in turn increases
your network. Then, each distributor in your network receives a commission for each
product sale, and as your position in the network builds, your commission rate similarly
builds.
Now, with a structured network constructed downline to you, you have affiliates who feed
your network. You become the strong, supporting sponsor. You provide clear vision and
mission to your network. You support your distributors, so they never feel abandoned.
Your network is now established, and you receive and provide an unbroken flow of
education to your downline distributors. Your support to them is a lifelong system of
rewards to you.
As an established sponsor, you move to a format that includes weekly guidance for your
directly linked downline distributors. This ensures they maintain your network’s mission and
vision while keeping them attuned to the latest product and educational opportunities.

Meanwhile, you attend weekly to your new downline distributors who have just joined for
two functions:
First, you service their needs to learn more about the organization and overcome
customary obstacles found in the first few months of orientation.
Second, you assist these new downline distributors as their sponsor to introduce the
network to contacted leads.
