Introduced some 15 years ago after extensive research and development, repair had its roots in road construction.

The originator of the specialised bitumen binder “the secret’ to the materials success, spent many years working with bitumen and modified binders in the refinement of the binder .

Repair is used by Provincial, Municipal, Local and Highway Authorities, as well as utilities and contractors for the permanent reinstatement of all road surfaces.

Repair unique properties

• Specially selected, graded Dolomite aggregates

• Quality penetration grade bitumen

• Gives the material the workability of hot asphalt

• Workable even in wet and cold conditions (- 5. C to 60. C)

Repair useful information

•25 Kg bag covers approx 1 square meter at 18 mm thickness compacted

• Repair cures through compaction and exposure to air

•Because of the strong adhesives in repair all tools ( and shoes ) should have wet surfaces

The cost to the road user increases dramatically with the increased deterioration of the road

The Repair Method

SURFACE STRIPPING -This can be reinstated quickly and easily by simply cleaning the effected area ,compacting in new repair material, using limited equipment and limited road closure but importantly binding the effected areas together, giving a good ride quality and preventing further deterioration The ability for repair to be laid thinly ( i.e. 10mm makes it unique compared to other materials

Potholes of less than 40mm in depth can simply be cleaned out ofany loose material in filled with repair .

Deeper potholes must have the road base reinstated before surfacing

These kinds of repair are simple, fast and cost effective, requiring only a plate compactor and a small labour force

NB: MATERIAL IS NOT THE ONLY CRITERIA IN COSTING
