Communion of Saints
Means two things: the unity in Christ that is experienced by all the people, past and present; and the holy things, such as the sacraments, that bring about that unity.
Although canonized saints are prime examples of holiness and dedication to God, it is the unheralded who stand as prime examples for us.
Living Saints
Seeing someone making the world a better place by aiding the suffering of man is communion with saints.
We are called to follow that example. “As you did it to one of the least of my brethren, you did it to me” Mt. 25:40
Communion of Saints
With every crisis or hardship, a saint rises to assist those who are in need.
In addition to Jesus, we have a bevy of role models to follow. The saints.
In death, the canonized saints leave a legacy of holiness, for us to follow.
Gift of the Church
Jesus is the truth of salvation. That truth is passed on to generations through the Church
The Church is Jesus’ body on earth.
The Church is the means and the end of the Father’s plan for salvation: born in Christ and built up and made holy through the Holy Spirit
Gift of the Church
All salvation comes from the Church, with Jesus as its head.
The Church provides knowledge and truth necessary to be vital in our moral decision making.
Church is guided by Popes and Bishops as the successors to Peter, whom Christ entrusted the Church
