Are You Ready?

Sunday June 15 evening worship

Scripture Reading: 1John 5:9-13

1John 5:9-139 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.

1John 5:9-1310 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

1John 5:9-1311 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

1John 5:9-1313 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

1John 5:13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Are You Ready?• Suppose Jesus asked, “Why

should I let you into heaven?”

Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Are You Ready?• Suppose Jesus asked, “Why

should I let you into heaven?”• Why is it a gift? Because we

need grace!

Romans 3:23 ….for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

1John 3:4Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

James 2:10For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

James 4:17Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Revelation 21:8But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

should I let you into heaven?”• Why is it a gift? Because we

need grace!• While everyone deserves

death, there is hope in grace!

Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1John 4:9,109 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

1John 4:9,1010 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1John 2:17And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
