Word count- 2000 plus 10%- 2200.
Layout
Executive Summary- doesnt count towards the word count. Google has manygood examples of ES. (ideally short and simple= 200 words)
Part 1-Introduction, discussion on reflection theories, how reflection is useful in
practice. Theories such as kolb, Gibbs. (Refer to blackboard). (400 words)
Part 2- Critical incidents. Come up with two critical incidents- 1 positive and one
negative. Here I used Gibbs model for all my experiences. Summaries the two
incidents. (400 words)- critical incident table doesnt count towards the word
count.
Part 3- Action plan.
After reflecting on your experiences using the model. What have you found? Talk
about the lessons learnt and what would you do differently in the future. Maybe
even set aims for your self. (optional). (400 words)
Summary
Talk here about the transferable skills mainly. And use all the previous
comments you made to make a effective finish to the report. Talk about the
future and how this reflection will help you in your carrier, so on so. (refer to
black broad)- allot of information is there, just read and all will make sense. If
you need more help let me no.
More HelpBasically you need to describe a critical incident (something that happenedthat you think was important, good or bad and had an impact) within a box -so that it doesn't count within your word count, you can put up to 2 within abox. Any others referred to will have to be in the body of the text. You need toreference critical incident technique itself and apply the technique in the text, that is analysing what happened, why it happened, what the result was andwhat you would do the same or differently as a result, that is to say what youlearned from the experience. Talk about people including yourself, from the
group, in respect of the incident to explain behaviours, words, feelings, thoughts and relate to theories we discussed, (list made on the flip chart lastseminar) which are all readily available in your core text and have beendiscussed in seminars and lectures e.g. leadership, group dynamics, learningstyles, communication, organisational culture (maybe comparing your groupto a type of organisational culture), or even individual personality or culturalinfluences - reference diversity etc. You should be able to get at least 10 -12references.Obviously the key to the report is identifying the incidents first. The opening summary will need to be written last when you know what thesummary of the whole essay is, it won't count in the words but should be keptsuccinct. Which headings you choose is part of the test and will be differentfor each student. You might choose headings like what went well; what didn'tgo well; or that might not be helpful if they both include some of the same

elements because you could end up repeating yourself. You might choose'group dynamics' or 'communications' 'the end results' - I can't really commentbecause it will be very different for each group depending on what the keyelements are but you don't need a large number and should include Summaryat the outset, 'Conclusion and Recommendations' (which can be all one
heading or two separate ones. The referencing must be Harvard, per theseminar and the booklet is available on the Bucks Uni home page
