U @bostonparksdept :f. @bostonparksdepartment ~ @bostonparksdept
Dear Friends,
The Boston Parks and Recreation Department invites city residents to "park it with us" for free entertainment and activities throughout the year for all ages and backgrounds. The summer months are the busiest, as you can see from the diverse menu of events and programs listed in these pages.
Beginning with the Frog Pond opening, the season truly gets underway as our Parks staff fan out to parks citywide.
As summer sets in, our popular children's craft workshops are held at neighborhood parks throughout the city along with workshops for adults including watercolor painting taught by skilled instructors. Youth team sports programs include baseball, softball, basketball, football, tennis, junior golf, soccer, rugby, and lacrosse.
Youth looking for additional athletic and wellness activities will find them at our Sports Centers at White Stadium, East Boston Memorial Stadium, and Medal of Honor Park while the Summer Fitness Series for adults offers classes in Afrobeat Boot Camp, Cardio Dance, POUND Fitness, Carnival fit, Chair yoga, Zumba, Tai Chi, and much more. Music lovers can choose from a wide choice of outdoor concerts ranging from the Neighborhood Concert Series to the Dorothy Curran Wednesday Night Concert Series at City Hall Plaza.
Please take a look at the dozens of programs listed in this guide - all offered free of charge - and join us for another fun-filled season in Boston's parks!
