RESOLUTION A.159(ES.IV) adopted on 27 November 1968

THE ASSEMBLY,

NOTING Article 16(i) of the IMCO Convention concerning the function of the Assembly,

HAVING EXAMINED the Recommendation on pilotage adopted by the Mari·Gime Safety Cammi ttee at its seventeenth session,

RECOMMENDG to Governments that they should organize ~ilotage services in those areas where such services would contribute to the safety of navigation in a more effective way than other possible measures and should, where applicable, define the ships or classes of ships for which employment of a pilot would be me..ndatory.
