been classifi ed as a cancer-causing agent, which has
increased the demand for indoor radon tests in real
estate transactions. Also, many new "green" building
codes and/or incentive programs require the use of
radon-resistant construction methods.

scientist with over 30 years of experience in indoor air quality
and energy management studies. As a staff scientist at the
University of California Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory, he
directed fi eld research on indoor air quality,
ventilation, and radon in residences, schools,
and commercial buildings. Brad has been
the principal investigator on a number
of ground-breaking research projects
involving moisture, ventilation, and Indoor
Environmental Quality (IEQ) surveys.
