I have not read bone gap, what is it about?

This is a involved, strange and magical story about a beautiful girl who is kidnapped, and a boy who has special sight. The story visits both the small town where the boy lives and the spellbound outback where the girl is being held captive. Will the boy be able to save the girl?

I read bone gap and I liked it.

What would you suggest for something similar?

I would suggest, The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by

Leslye Walton,Where Things Come Back, by John Corey, or

Reality Check, by Peter Abrahams

Like Bone Gap, this book combines magic and reality; the heroine has wings. It is Ava’s quest to find out why she is different. It is a complex story about three generations of women and how love can be hindered, but prevails in the end.

Like Bone Gap this is a complex story about small town boys. The story is told from two perspectives; Cullen is 17 and just graduated from high school, and his little brother disappears. Benton Sage narrates the second view, and finds the book of Enoch. It is more realistic and sad; than Bone Gap, yet has an element of humor.

Like Bone Gap this is a story about a boy searching for a missing girl. Cody is a small town boy who has dropped out of high school and finds himself submerged outside of his element to solve a mystery. He encounters many complex characters, but because this is a thriller it is a very fast-paced story.

This is a fast-paced story of a boy who has a dream to pitch in the Little League World Series, but there are obstacles standing in his way. Michael and Carlos’ parents have passed away and the two boys don’t want to be separated because they are underage. This story is full of dialogue and believable characters, and will entertain any sports fan.

Like the book, Heat this story is about the death of a parent and how it changes the whole world in the eyes of a young teen. Molly is an awkward girl who is a baseball pitcher and wants to play on a boy’s team to help her cope with the death of her father and her withdrawn mother. It is heartwarming and enduring.

This book isn’t about baseball; it is about a boy living just after the second World War, trying to put together a school basketball team. So it gives you a feeling of the language and lifestyle in the 1940s. There is a bit of a mystery to the story and the team uncovers a secret their English teacher is hiding. It has very detailed basketball action.

Will is a young artistic girl who creates lamps because she is afraid of the dark. She finds a way to cope with the death of her parents by getting involved in a art carnival. She also has to deal with the terror of hurricane Whitney, to realize she is strong and happy. The characters are quirky and the illustrations are expressive making them very likeable.

This is a science fiction graphic novel based on the classic tale by Madeleine L’Engle. It is a story about a young girl, her little brother and a friend traveling through space to rescue their father. The illustrations are charatcter centered leaving the blue hued backgrounds up to the reader’s imagination.
