Re:BiomedicalSummerResearchProjectsTheOfficeoftheViceDeanResearch(OVDR)isexcitedtoannouncethebeginningofanotherroundofBiomedicalSummerResearchProjects.Thisprogramisintendedtoassistintheresearchtrainingofourundergraduate students enrolled in the Anatomy and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology andImmunology, Physiology, and Pharmacology programs. The ultimate goal of these awards is to givestudentsvaluablelabexperienceandtoencouragethemtocontinueontoagraduatestudiesprogram.Thisyear,wewill fundapproximately18projects,dependentuponthenumberofqualityapplicationsreceived.TheOVDRwillbefullyfunding10-weekprojectswiththeoptiongiventofacultysupervisorstofundanadditionalsixweeks—tobefundedfromthesupervisor’sownresearchfundingsource.Thecontributionofourofficewillbeapproximately$5,500andmustbeusedentirelyforthesalaryofthestudentfor10weeks.Inordertobeeligibletoapply,supervisorsmustbeCollegeofMedicinefaculty,andstudentsmustbeundergraduate students enrolled in one of the Biomedical departments in the College of Medicine.Studentsandsupervisorswithsimilarresearchinterestsareencouragedtocontacteachotherandbeginthe application process.
