PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONThe AOCR 2017 Annual Conference is designed to provide updates on current imaging to practicing radiologists and radiologists-in-training. Both private practice radiologists and those in teaching or multidisciplinary positions will benefit from these updates with particular attention to diagnostic dilemmas and imaging look-alikes. This 4½ day program brings together experts in multiple subspecialty fields to discuss current practice in cardiothoracic imaging, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, nuclear medicine/PET, women’s imaging, quality issues, and the practice of law. The program will provide valuable information on current imaging, the administration of high quality patient care, and strategies for avoiding medical malpractice issues. The educational format will include didactic lectures with case based reviews, ample opportunity to “ask the experts,” and being able to participate in real time patient evaluation using musculoskeletal ultrasound. Interactive ARS (audience response systems) will promote audience participation. Two self-assessment lectures (SAMs) will be offered pending approval from the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology (AOBR).
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES 1. Discuss imaging findings in the athlete and how these finding affect his/her ability to return to the sport of their choice 2. Describe current practice of multi-modality imaging of the knee 3. Recognize common and uncommon US artifacts and identify their effect on diagnosis 4. Identify criteria for staging of female pelvic pathology and differentiate between malignant and benign masses in the female pelvis 5. Differentiate between intra-and extra-medullary cord disease 6. Differentiate between clinically significant and unimportant lesions to avoid unnecessary escalation of care or imaging and promote the practice of cost-effective medicine 7.
