Procedure:

1. Selecttheprofile(s)youwanttouseasabasisfortheprofiletoolpath.Youcanselectoneormultipleopenorclosedprofiles.Aprofiletypicallyconsistsofapolylineoraselectionofconnectedlines,arcs,ellipsearcsandsplines.Ifyouneedfullcontrolofthestartpointanddirectionofaprofiletoolpath,makesurethatallyourprofilesconsistofpolylineswiththedesiredstartpointanddirection.

2. Startthistool.3. Theprofiletoolpathdialogisshownwiththevariousparametersthatdefineatoolpath.

Name:Nameofthetoolpath,uniqueperconfiguration.Tool:Thetoolnumberofthetoolusedtoprocessthetoolpath.Youcanalsoaddatoolbyclickingontheplussymbol.FeedRate:Thefeedratetouseforthisparticulartoolpath.Thisdefaultstothefeedrateofthechosentoolbutcanbeadjustedforeachtoolpathindividuallyifdesired.PlungeRate:Thefeedrateusedfordownwardmoves.Thisdefaultstotheplungerateofthechosentoolbutcanbeadjustedforeachtoolpathindividuallyifdesired.

CuttingDepths:SafeZ(a):TheZlevelusedtoapproachthetoolpathatrapidmove(clearance,approachinglevel).StartDepth(b):TheZlevelatwhichthematerialbegins(typically0).CutDepth(c):Thefinalcuttingdepth,measuredfromthestartdepth.Notethatcutdepthisadistance(positive),notaZlevel.Passes:Thenumberofpassestousetoreachthefinalcuttingdepthor1tocuttothefinaldepthinasinglepass.
