Q5: What kind of media institution might distribute your media product

and why?

IPC

IPC is a major company that produce magazines in the UK. With more than 60 iconic media brands, IPC creates content for multiple platforms, across print, online, mobile, tablets and events.

IPCIPC is likely to be interested and want to produce my magazine because it appeals to an audience that they haven’t yet targeted. In the UK there are not many other magazine producing and printing companies that make Rap and R&B music magazines.

IPC have made a rock magazine, so apart from Uncut and NME; they do not have a magazine for rap or R&B. NME is a very popular magazine but because it is a different music genre magazine it will not effect one others sale rates.

The company of IPC have made music magazines before so they will be confident that it will be a big hit. IPC would like to produce mine as they know it will be a big hit, this will be because in the UK there isn’t a massive competition for my type of music magazine. The competition will be with the American rap magazines.

I have realised that not all the magazines of IPC are popular. A lot of them are neish market magazines. My magazine is a neish market but I do think that it will become popular and that IPC needs a music magazine like Youth.
