MICA FORMATION
MICA was formed by local residents in the fall of 2001 in response to the accelerated private development of many of the Mahone Bay Islands.
MICA is a nonprofi t society with charitable sta-tus that operates with a 100% volunteer Board of Directors and work teams that channel 100% of all funds towards our mission.
STEWARDSHIP OF THE ISLANDS
MICA’s Stewardship goal is that all island users are the island stewards. Please do your part when visiting the Islands by packing out what you packed in. ‘Please leave only your footprints’
MICA success to date has been the result of:
- Thousands of volunteer hours.- Strong partnerships with the Nova Scotia De-partment of Natural Resources, the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg and the Municipali-ty of the District of Chester- Members and Friends of MICA- Our Corporate Supporters
