Let’s Practice

Put these numbers in order from least to greatest. (smallest to biggest)

39 76 55 15

They can be put in order by looking at the tens place only.

15 39 55 76

Let’s Try a Harder One

42 38 35 11

1. Look at the tens place. I know 11 is least because it has a ‘1’ in the tens place. I know 42 is greatest because it has a ‘4’ in the tens place.

11 35 38 42

2. Look at the ones place for 38 and 35. A ‘5’ is smaller than an ‘8’, so 35 comesbefore 38.

Order these numbers from least to greatest.
