Way too often…

Here you go. The report you asked for. Our best people have fixed your

problem.

…we, as experts, look isolated at a problem

Ehmn, okay. Thank you,

I guess.

But: Our expert knowledge is just not enough. We have to

show that we understand how the solutions fit into the bigger picture. Isolated problem solving is a ’no go’

in an interconnected world.

Visual storytelling

Even really complex technical information can be

explained in a coherent story. You can see it the solution being one

piece in a larger puzzle.

Technical information Take for example this software solution, ACL. Here you are able to read

about the solution itself but also see the benefits, the needs it addresses, the value,

and even the step-by-step process of implementation. Everything that

”surrounds” it.

Project overview

Or this complex project overview that provides clarity and a coherent story for why

and how this company can implement a fit for purpose

control environment.

Information in space and time

When we store information in space (e.g. a visual

landscape) rather than in time (a long speeh or

text report) we help our viewers access it much

easier. They become co-creaters of the story

because they see themselves in it.

In this way you offer a way for them to engage in

the process you are suggesting.

Let us finally look at some questions this

”information landscape” could answer.

Creating the story Here you see what I call a

template. It is a structure or scaffold for how you can arrange information in space so that you

can tell the story of your project/process.
