assessment

Stages of assessment
In pairs/small groups match the statements up with the type of
assessment it describes.
Initial Assessment• Starting point
• Used to identify learners needs, goals and desires
• Informs planning
• Allows you to respond to learning needs
In small groups look through the examples of initial assessment pro-formas.
Discuss how you would adapt them for your groups.
Formative assessment
• Ongoing • Monitoring progress • Variety• RARPA• Learner involvement

Meaningful use of recordings• To summarise:• Record an individual’s progress & achievement• The recordings capture a learning objective from
your lesson plan or scheme of work• Caption images (or use image file names) to identify
the learning objective & date.
• Cross-reference or link to recordings from other paperwork: eg ILPs. Store files with centre
managers.• Written permission: needed if the recording is to be
published / used in the public domain.
