Conceptual, ergonomic and appearance models

January 16th, 2014

Conceptual Model

It is a model made with simple materials. It must be in real scale to use it for ergonomics and form test. You use this tests for evolutive changes.

Never stay with one idea, try more and more until you find the best.

Display and control

Conceptual model using standard material as screws, wheels, etc.

Ergonomic Model• This is a model made with simple

materials and better finish.

• It is detailed. For example, if it has buttons they have to be in real dimensions, or if it has a particular texture you have to mark it.

• With this model you can keep making changes, design is evolution.

Appearance modelIt is a physical representation of the

product concept that closely simulate the look, color, finish, and tactile feel.

It is in real scale showing all the physique characteristics of the product as real as it can be possible.

Is used to understand how is this product going to be: dimensions, colors, production process and techniques (We need to understand what kind of material is trying to represent: plastic, metals, or what kind of process: concavities, assembly, relief).

Is used for market research and product evaluations.
