Pramukhswami Medical College:
The College was started in 1987 and is affiliated to the Sardar Patel University, Vallabh
Vidyanagar. It has been accorded recognition by the Medical Council of India. It admits 100
students every year for a five-and-a-half year course leading to the degree of Bachelor of
Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.).
The institute offers the following programs:
MBBS 4 ½ years + 1 Year compulsory internship . Total : 100 seats
Admission offered under the following headings:
Admission committee for Professional Medical Educational Courses : 75 seats
Management Quota Seats : 10 seats
Non Resident Indian (NRI) / NRI sponsored : 15 seats
PG (Degree and Diploma) in various branches
The College has state-of-the art research and development facilities, a Library and other
infrastructure support systems. The museum attached to the college’s departments
particularly of Anatomy, Preventive and Social Medicine, Pathology and Pharmacology have
rich collections and are rated the best in the State.
The College places particular emphasis on community medicine. Other community outreach
programmes include an Integrated Rural Community Health Project (at village Ardi), an
Urban Health Center (at Anand) and an Adolescent Counseling Clinic (at the University
Health Center). The department organizes School Health Programmes and periodic multi-
diagnostic mass screening camps in the surrounding villages.
The college has an experienced and dedicated faculty, some of whom have won National and
International acclaim. More than 450 original research papers written by staff members have
been published in reputed scientific journals in India and abroad. The Faculty also attends
scientific meetings, seminars and conferences to keep abreast of developments in their
respective fields. Some are also recipients of prestigious awards.

Shree Krishna Hospital:
The 550-bed Shree Krishna Hospital offers a complete array of curative, diagnostic,
therapeutic and educational facilities in a range of specialized fields like, Medicine, Surgery,
Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology, Dentistry,
Pediatrics, Radiology, TB & Chest, Dentistry, Obstetrics and Gynecology. It has well-
equipped laboratories, operation theaters, medical, surgical, pediatrics and neo-natal ICUs,
Trauma Centre and a CT Scan Centre.
The Hospital’s ICUs have met, to a large extent, a need greatly felt by the region to have
well-equipped facilities for handling emergency cases requiring intensive care. The ICUs
have advanced equipment, interalia, for centralized monitoring, artificial ventilation and
dialysis.
For major and minor surgeries, there are well equipped Operation Theaters. Separate theaters
are available for General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT and Orthopedics. The
surgical team of the hospital has achieved many milestones. Our Orthopedic Department, for
example, has been at the forefront in performing joint replacements and spinal surgeries and
our team of ENT Department specialists in head & neck surgeries. The Obstetrics &
Gynecology Department has been routinely carrying out many complicated deliveries and
with the acquisition of a hysteroresectoscope, is able to perform hysterectomies with much
less discomfort to the patients. The General Surgery team carries out abdominal, thoracic,
urological, plastic and reconstructive surgeries. The Hospital has been recognized by the
Government of Gujarat for treating medico-legal cases and therefore, all accident cases
occurring within a radius of 25 km. are brought here. The Department of Radiology has
facilities for MRI, CT Scan, Mammography, IITV, Ultra-Sonography, Barium tests and
Myelography. The laboratories are equipped to handle all tests related to Pathology,
Microbiology, Biochemistry and Histopathology.
The Mandal has within the campus ‘state of art’ Bhanubhai and Madhuben Patel Cardiac
center and Manibhai Shivabhai Patel Cancer center catering to the rural masses.

Shri KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy: “NAAC Accredited : B – Grade”
Physiotherapy department of Shree Krishna Hospital, which was started in 1982, based on
three profound principles, Charutar Arogya Mandal's motto – “Solace For The Suffering”,
vision of founder chairperson H M Patel and the passion of German born Physiotherapist,
Elsa D Bondt, grew and transformed into K. M. Patel Institute of Physiotherapy in the year
1999.
The institute offers the following programs:
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) - 4 ½ years - 30 seats
Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) - 2 years - 06 seats
Doctor of Physiotherapy
All programs are affiliated to the Sardar Patel University. The Institute has been recognized
by Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) which is a member of World confederation
of Physiotherapy (WCPT). The Institute has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated
faculty in conformity with IAP rules, ensuring high quality of teaching / guidance to the
students.
The institute has full fledged Rehabilitation Unit, with separate bio mechanics & kinesiology,
electrotherapy, adult & pediatric neuro physiotherapy, orthotic & prosthetic and occupational
therapy departments. The institute runs a obesity and fitness clinic with a highly modern
whole body gym with professional care. Orthotic and prosthetic department of the institute
effectively contributes to complete rehabilitation.
The In Patients Department of institute caters to the Physiotherapy needs of patients admitted
in Shree Krishna Hospital. The institute also runs domiciliary services which provide
physiotherapy / home health care services right at the doorstep of needy patients. Various
extension centres of Shree Krishna Hospital have special OPD services of Physiotherapy and
the camps at various villages & PHCs organized by institute provides better rehabilitation
services to the community of Anand District & exemplifies the institutes commitment to
society.
Several New & advanced instruments LASER, MWD, Combination therapy, EMG
biofeedback, perineometer & Gait equipment etc, are also available. It has two EMG / NCV
equipments, which are highly valuable tool in diagnosing the neurological problems.
Apart from the Central library, which we share with other colleges in the campus, the
institute also has its own library facility exclusively with physiotherapy books. The institute

collaborates with other departments of the Pramukhswami Medical College & Shree Krishna
Hospital in various research activities apart from conducting it's own.
The H M Patel Institute of Post Graduate Studies
The Institute runs Three-year degree courses in Anatomy, Physiology, Anesthesiology,
Community Medicine, Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, General Medicine, General
Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology,
Pediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry Respiratory Medicine and Radio-
diagnosis. Two-year diploma courses are conducted in Anesthesiology (DA), Community
Medicine (DCM), Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (DDVL), Obstetrics &
Gynaecology (DGO), Ophthalmology (DO), Orthopedics (D.Ortho), Otorhinolaryngology
(DLO), Pathology (DCP), Pediatrics (DCH), and Radio-diagnosis (DMRD) along with a
two year post graduate program in Physiotherapy (MPT) run by KM Patel Institute of
Physiotherapy.
Accommodation:
The hostels, located within the campus, are administered by Wardens and have round-the
clock security. Shared furnished accommodation at the hostels, is provided on first-come-first
served basis and at the discretion of the management. Rules governing “allotment of
accommodation” are followed in case of those provided accommodation at the hostels.
Admission to course does not, however, guarantee hostel accommodation. Hostel with
mess fee is Rs.45,000/-per year (subject to change). Caution money deposit is Rs.20, 000/-
(refundable).
Boarding:
Boarding facilities are available on the campus on payment.
Library: The College has excellent Central Library facilities. The Library subscribes to most of the
national and international journals required for under-graduate and post-graduate students and
faculty, as per the norms of the Medical Council of India. In addition to the Central Library,
each department has its own Departmental Library. The Central Library is equipped with all
the modern facilities viz: Internet, CD-ROMs, computers, audio-visual aids and
photocopying. The library is also subscribing to Electronic Journal package for over 1000
journals.
The reading room of the Library is open 24 hours during week days and 7.00 am to 5.00 p.m.
on all Sundays and public holidays.

Student Counseling:
Regular counseling sessions are arranged for students at the college. Senior faculty looks
after this activity under the direct supervision of the Dean of the college. Every attempt is
made to see that students feel fully secure and comfortable. Parents are also encouraged to
interact with the faculty members regularly to ensure the well being of their wards.
Ragging:
Ragging is strictly prohibited and banned on the campus. The UGC regulations for curbing
the menace of ragging will be enforced on all students, parents and all concerned personnel’s.
Sports & Recreation:
Facilities for indoor & outdoor games, like football, cricket, badminton, basketball,
volleyball, table tennis, carom and chess, are available. A well-equipped gymnasium and
facilities for other indoor sports are also available on the campus.
Medical Insurance: Students admitted would be covered under a suitable scheme for
hospitalization by the College.
Travel:
Karamsad is well connected by rail, road, and air. Plenty of buses ply between Anand and
Karamsad. The nearest railway station on the Broad-gauge line is Anand (10 kms.), which is
an important rail-junction between Vadodara and Ahmedabad on the Western railway. All
important Express / Super-fast trains stop at Anand.
The nearest airport Vadodara (50 kms. - 1 hr. drive by road) has daily flights to and from
Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad and Bangalore. The Ahmedabad airport (about 100 kms. – 2
hours drive by road) has direct and connecting flights to and from Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur,
Kolkata, Patna, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. Ahmedabad is also an
International airport.

Academic Calendar:
The scholastic year and the syllabus will be as per Medical Council of India / Indian
Association of Physiotherapists rules for MBBS / BPT respectively.
Attendance:
A minimum 75% attendance in a subject is compulsory provided the student has 80%
attendance in non-lecture teaching i.e. seminar, group discussions, tutorials, demonstrations,
practicals, hospital postings and bedside clinics. A minimum of 35% marks of the total marks
fixed for internal assessment in a particular subject is required, failing which, the students
will not be permitted to appear for the University examination.
The total duration of the M.B.B.S. Course is 4 1/2 years, divided in three phases.

There would be an internship period of one year, following successful completion of the
course. The internship postings would be as per the MCI regulations.
The total duration of the Physiotherapy course is 4 years, followed by an internship period of
6 months.
Payment of Tuition Fees:
M.B.B.S. COURSE: Students admitted to the course shall pay non-refundable fees of US
$100,000 OR Rs. 55 lakhs, whichever is higher in rupee value for the entire course. The fees
can paid in a single installment or in a maximum of Five (5) installments in dollar / rupee,
within a period of 4 years (Fee Payment schedule given below).
PHYSIOTHERAPY COURSE: Students admitted to the course shall pay non-refundable
fees of US $20,000/- or Rs 11 lakhs for the entire course to be paid in a single installment or
in a maximum of Five (4) equal installments in dollar / rupee subject to a minimum of Rs.
2.75 Lakhs per installment, whichever is higher in rupee value at the time of payment within
a period of 3 years. (Fee Payment schedule given below).

Students admitted to the course shall be required to pay eligibility/registration/medical
examination/medical insurance fees $ 835 (one time and subject to change) as per University
rules & regulation, development or any other fees as may be fixed by the Sardar Patel
University, Vallabh Vidyanagar within one month from the date of admission.
Rules Governing Admission to M.B.B.S. and B.P.T Courses:
Only those candidates who would satisfy or are likely to satisfy the relevant eligibility
requirements for admission will be considered eligible to appear for the admission
process.
Candidates seeking admission should have completed 17 years of age by 31st
December of the year of admission. Under aged candidates are not eligible to apply.
Admission to the course and enrollment of the student with University will be strictly
based on rules in vogue and duly framed by the competent authority i.e. Medical Council
of India/Government of India/Government of Gujarat/Sardar Patel University.
A candidate desiring admission should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate
Examination (H.S.C.) or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or Central
Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) or any other examination equal to 10 + 2 HSC
examination of any recognized Board/University from any school / college situated in
Gujarat after 12 years of study at one and same attempt, as per regulation in force.
Genuine NRI students who have secured a minimum of grades equivalent to 50%
marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in High School Diploma qualifying
examination, equivalent to 10 + 2 education pattern. The Equivalence Certificate is a
must for all genuine NRI students and should be obtained from Association of Indian
Universities, AIU House, Kotla Marg, New Delhi – 110002.

Provisional Eligibility Certificate should be obtained from Sardar Patel University,
within 15 days of the admission. The Eligibility certificate issued to a student by the
University would be treated as provisional certificate for a period of one Month and the
said certificate would be deemed as a final certificate only after the student has completed
all procedural formalities as required by the University.
Students will not be allowed to take up any employment or to carry out any private
business within or outside the campus during the entire period of their
studentship/studies.
Process of Selection:
Every application for admission shall be filled up in the prescribed form,
accompanied by application fee if prescribed, and supporting documents etc., and
submitted within the notified due date.
After the expiry of the last date of submitting application for admission, as soon as
possible, the applications would be processed and a merit list prepared.
Note: Admission to NRI seat would be subject to rules framed by the Admission
Committee for Professional Medical Educational Courses/ Govt. of Gujarat / MCI /
Competent Authority.
The merit order will be first decided on the basis of aggregate marks in external
examination in theory of the science subjects, i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Biology
at HSCE or its equivalent examination.
The criteria for deciding merit order in case of students having equal merit marks
shall be in the following sequence, namely:-
a. The candidate who has obtained higher marks in the theory subject of Biology
in qualifying examination.
b. Higher marks obtained in English subject in qualifying examination.
c. Higher Marks Obtained in secondary school certificate examination (Standard
10), and
d. Date of Birth (Candidate who is older in age shall be given priority).
The provisional admission is also subject to confirmation of the eligibility and NRI
status by the University / Committee appointed by the competent authority.

Admission on the Non-Resident Indian seats shall be given by the College on the
basis of merit list of the candidates who have applied for admission in the following
manner, namely:-
(i) The candidate who is Non-Resident Indian as also the candidate whose
parents and in the absence of his/her parents, his/her legal guardian who is
Non-Resident Indian, shall be offered the Non-Resident Indian;
(ii) And thereafter, the Non-Resident Indian seats, if remains vacant, shall be
offered to the candidate who is dependant of the Non-Resident Indian;
(iii) The candidate whose guardian is Non-Resident Indian shall have to produce
necessary proof to the satisfaction of the College establishing that in the
absence of his/her parents, the concerned person has been legally appointed
as his /her guardian; and ,
(iv) The candidate who is dependent of the Non-Resident Indian shall have to
produce necessary proof in support thereof to the satisfaction of the College.
9. Refund of Tuition fees on admission: (Dates subject to change depending on the
date of counselling, Refund rules mentioned in the Admission letter will be
applicable) In the event of an admitted student withdrawing / canceling his/her admission the refund of fee will be as under : Full refund of deposit / fees paid after deduction of Rs. 1000/- if the cancellation is done within 10 days of acceptance of the admission letter. a. In the event a student withdraws or cancels the seat before 16.08.2014 and if
seat get filled by another candidate, the entire fee collected will be refunded after deduction of Rs. 10000/- as cancellation charges. If the cancelled seat does not get filled there shall be no refund of tuition fee whatsoever and the candidate is liable to pay the whole course fee.
b. After start of the course i.e. 01.08.2014, if cancellation is done after 16.08.2014 and if seat gets filled by another candidate, the entire fee collected will be refunded after deduction of Rs. 25000/- as cancellation charges. If the cancelled seat does not get filled there shall be no refund of tuition fee whatsoever and the candidate is liable to pay the whole course fee.
c. If the student discontinues or leaves the course, for whatsoever reason, after joining the course, at any time after completion of the admission process, there will be no refund of fees and the parent and student is legally liable to pay the whole course fee stated above as per the course.

i. The attached application form must be filled in by the candidate in his/her own
handwriting in BLOCK LETTERS, with Blue/Black ink.
ii. The GENUINE NRI application form must be accompanied by attested and clear
photocopies of the prescribed documents :
a) Transcript certificate from school for Four years ( 9,10,11 & 12 standards)
b) Birth Certificate and Photocopy of Passport, Visa of student & Resident proof of
applicant and Parent (Colour copies of all pages including blank)
c) High School Diploma / Graduation Certificate
d) Equivalence Certificate from Association of Indian Universities, AIU House, Kotla
Marg, New Delhi – 110 002 or Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board,
Gandhinagar
e) Accreditation Status of the School / School Profile, with Grading Key.
f) Attested copy of the Nationality and Citizenship of applicant and parent.

vi. Documents submitted along with the application will not be returned
vii. At the time of reporting for admission, the candidate is required to produce all the
documents in original and two sets of photocopies. If the candidate is admitted, the
College will retain these documents till he/she completes the course. If the candidate
fails to produce any of the documents listed above, he/she will instantaneously forfeit
his/her claim for a seat.
viii. Students who have migrated from other Universities/Board and who are eligible for
admission according to these rules will have to produce a certificate of eligibility from
Sardar Patel University to which the college affiliated. (All candidates, other than
those passing HSC Examination of Gujarat H.S.C.E. Board will have to produce this
certificate).
ix. Incomplete application will be summarily rejected and no correspondence thereof
would be entertained.
x. Applications with all enclosures should be sent to the Dean/Principal of the respective
institution at the address given at the bottom of this page or before the due date.
xi. Admission is subject to the verification of the eligibility/documents by the University
/ Admission committee appointed by the Govt. of Gujarat.
xii. Differences of opinion and disputes arising in the interpretation and implementation
of the clauses in the Prospectus, if any, will be referred to the Dean, Pramukhswami
Medical College.
xiii. The rules contained in the prospectus and / or any change in rules by competent
authority, which would be timely updated on the website, would apply for admission
and to all rounds of counseling as may be applicable.

applicants are supposed to visit the website for updates.
No separate intimation will be sent for counseling.

Court Jurisdiction:
Any legal dispute arising out of the admission procedure of the M.B.,B.S./BPT course of the Pramukhswami Medical College/ K M Patel Institute of Physiotherapy shall be under the jurisdiction of Judicial Magistrate, Anand 388 001, Gujarat State. __________________________________________________________________________ P.S. : 1. be doing so at their own risk, cost and responsibility, and the college will not be
responsible for such acts
