GOAL (USD 30,000.00) = JMD 2,640,000.00

ABOUT THE FUNDS

The funds raised from the Project Educate initiative (the Pacific Northwest

District and Jamaica District's joint project) will be used to aid in furthering the

educational development of three schools on the island of Jamaica, as well

as fund 160 scholarships for primary (elementary) school children entering

high school.

Objective: Helping to support early-childhood & primary education in the

developing country of Jamaica.

OUR CONTRIBUTIONS

How will the money be allocated towards each contribution?

#5 30,000 High school scholarships for 10 students across Jamaica

#4 27,050 St. Mary School (yet to be confirmed) school supplies

#3 23,050 Online classroom assistance to 150 students across Jamaica

#2 20,050 WakeFeild Primary School assistance for a new Library

#1 12,050 Mona Heights Primary School supplies & library equipment

CONTRIBUTION #1

USD 12,050.00 MONA HEIGHTS PRIMARY SCHOOL (ST. ANDREW)

School Supplies (498 students) (USD 9,960.00)

o $1= 3 pencils

o $1 = 1 notebook for a student

o $15 = 1 bagpack for a student

o $2 = 1 pack of crayons for a student

o $1= 1 eraser + 1 ruler for a student

Library Equipment (USD 2,090.00)

o Computers for Library (5 computers) USD 2,000

USD 400.00 = 1 computer for library

o 1 Printer/Scanner for Library USD 90.00

USD 90.00= 1 scanner for library

School supplies will be assembled in a bagpack for each student for the 2013-

2014 school year. It will take USD $20 to provide 1 child with school supplies.

CONTRIBUTION #2

USD 8,000.00 WAKEFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL (TRELAWNY)

Aid the development of a new library (8,000.00)

The Wakefield Primary School’s library was burnt down. The USD 8,000 raised will

go towards the development of a new library.

CONTRIBUTION #3

USD 3,000.00 ONLINE CLASSROOM ASSISTANCE FOR 150 STUDENTS

ACROSS JAMAICA (in partnership with EduFocal)

Scholarships (150 students) USD 3,000.00 (JMD 265,950.00),

in partnership with EduFocal Jamaica.

o USD 20.00 = Scholarship for 1 student

CONTRIBUTION #4

USD 4,000.00 PRIMARY SCHOOL IN THE ST. MARY PARISH, YET TO CONFIRM

School Supplies USD 4000.00 Students in school

(200 students )

o $1 = 3 pencils for a student

o $1= 1 rubber and a ruler for a student

o $1= 1 notebook for a student

o $2= 1 pack of crayon for a student

o $15= 1 bag pack for a student

It will take USD 20 to provide 1 child with school supplies.

CONTRIBUTION #5

USD 2,950.00 10 HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 6th GRADERS

ACROSS JAMAICA

USD295 = JMD 126,151.75 scholarship

USD 2,950 (JMD 261,517.50) SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is in aid of ten students across Jamaica, who are in need of

financial assistance for their 2013-2014 high school year (Grade 7). A lot of our

Jamaican student can’t afford to pay for their high school education, and with

this contribution from Project Educate, this will go a FAR way. The public will be

invited to apply for this scholarship, and the most suitable applicants will be

awarded.
