Pressure on governments to simplify and enforce laws is another major challenge
In summary.. The opportuni6es for business in preven6ng deforesta6on and encouraging restora6on are threefold: 1) To beder understand supply chains, improve resilience, and trust
via policy, targets, ac2on and transparency 2) To help governments make the right decisions and improve
enforcement and sustainable livelihoods, in partnership with key stakeholders
3) To make a significant and las6ng contribu6on to tackling global climate change via land use (400 PPM CO2 to 280 PPM) “To be on the right side of history”
Some companies have made a start, others are catching up. There’s a long way to go. But we can be a lot more op6mis6c than we might have been five years ago. That’s progress.
