27 weeks, incl. Chinese New Year Break (27 – 31 Jan, 2020)

Objectives (p.3)
To produce a professionally reflective, self-evaluating, knowledgeable, competent and developing social worker who is adequate to address the needs and problems of a society in transition. The specific objectives of fieldwork are to enable the students:
(a) to gain experience in relating and apply the theory and knowledge derived from social work studies, social sciences, and supporting subjects to the field situations; (b) to examine and assimilate professional attitudes and values which affect effective functioning of the various roles of social workers; (c) to develop competence in generic social work practice; (d) to develop basic understanding of supervision, management, and planning of social welfare programme; (e) to strengthen their understanding of the needs and problems of a specific client system; (f) to develop their professional capability for adapting, transferring, and developing knowledge and skills to meet the changing needs and problems of a society in transition.

Special issues
Do not take any photo with your clients/ about your placement unit by using your electronic media (e.g. mobile phone/ digital camera etc.), if you need to take photo for record, you are recommended to use agency’s camera, ensure the record (e.g. photos, video, audio etc.) are being well protected and not take away from your service unit.
Do not upload any information(including photos) about your placement agencies, units, clients on the web (e.g. Face book, twitter, blog, Instagram etc.), to avoid disclosing any confidential information without others’ consent.
