Walking and Recreational Trail

The trail that needs to be funded will involve planting Native plants, installing picnic benches and other seating,

along with areas of recreation for the retired community. The trail will no doughtily benefit the entire community with recreational and educational opportunities, including a

variety of natural wildlife. The need for this type of recreation is critical to the community and it is very

important that it get funded to ensure that these areas remain natural but are still used properly by the community.

Corporate Funding

• Corporate Funding is a great way for Municipalities to fund their projects.

• Many Corporations are eager to fund because it creates good PR for their company and further spreads awareness of their name.

• Asking Corporations for money can seem rather daunting but approach them with a positive attitude and a well thought out explanation for why they should fund your project and you will do just fine.

Obtaining Corporate Funding

• 1• Determine the level of funding you are looking for.

• Be prepared to present an exact dollar amount to the corporations you approach.

• Corporations may be asked to fund the entire project.

• Other times the Corporation may be asked to fund specific parts of the project.

Obtaining Corporate Funding

• 2• Research the better business Bureau to find out which

corporations do business in your area.

• Target corporations that have something in common with your project.

• Corporations that offer goods and services in the same field as your project may be more inclined to fund your project because they can get more exposure for their business by doing so.

Obtaining Corporate Funding

• 3• Make a list of the corporations you would like to approach

about funding your project.

• These should be corporations that you feel you have a good chance of receiving funding from.

• If you know someone working within one of the corporations, you will have a better chance of setting up a meeting with them to hear you out.

Obtaining Corporate Funding

• 4• Contact the corporations you wish to receive funding from.

• Introduce your self and company name.

• Ask to schedule a meeting with their Director of Public Relations or Director of Community Relations to talk about working with your business on the project.

Obtaining Corporate Funding

• 5• Explain how funding your project will benefit their

Corporation.

• Draw media attention to your project.

• Getting stories written in your local paper.

• Host special events to gain attention.

• You may also want to hire a PR representative to help.
