We can say it in one word! Traffic!...This has been our main issue by far since
opening school three weeks ago. I want to thank you for your patience as we
have endured what may be the worst traffic pattern I have ever seen around a
school zone. I also want to thank the Ringgold City Police Chief and especial-
ly Ray Johnson, our County representative, for setting up and attending a
meeting I was invited to with GDOT officials who seemed very willing to
listen to our traffic concerns. The bottom line is we will have to endure for a
while longer. There will eventually be two separate lanes for turning right
and left onto Hwy 41 near the Old Stone Church. We have a map available to
show you the layout of what it will look like once it is finished a few months
from now in the front office. Other than the traffic, it has also been one of
the smoothest starts I have experienced. If you have questions or issues,
please call and set up a time when you can share those with me…
We are looking forward to a fantastic year here at Tiger Creek!

School Safety Update We are very dedicated to our students and our families. We want to make
TCE not only the caring place it has always been but also the safest place
it could possibly be. Please help us out by allowing your child to walk to
class by themselves or with a friend. Someone will be available to
help your child in the morning, if needed. Thank you for
your cooperation in making TCE the
Best School In The World!
Whether your child is reading
or doing math, being able to
“see” material can help her
understand it. For example,
have her sketch a scene from
a story or draw a map of the
setting. Or she might use
objects to solve a math prob-
lem. For 15 divided by 3, she
could arrange 15 barrettes
into 3 equal groups to find
the answer (5).
Has your contact information
changed since spring? Check
that your youngster’s school
has your correct home ad-
dress, phone numbers, and
email addresses on file. That
way, teachers and staff will
know the best way to reach
you about school events,
concerns with your child, or
emergency closings.

you can do it.”

Character Education Trait of the Month
How do kids show the people who trust them with things that they can be
trusted with more? Here’s the thing: over time, showing you can be respon-
sible with something small will earn you the chance to be responsible with
something bigger. So this month, give your kids opportunities to show re-
sponsibility.

Q: Where can you
find hippos?
A: It depends on
where you hide them!
Welcome to TCE! I am excited about this school year and the opportunities it offers
in working with your child. As a school counselor, I am an educator trained in
school counseling, just as other educators are trained in math, science, or language
arts. My job at TCE is to develop and implement a comprehensive school counsel-
ing program designed to meet the needs of every student. School counselors work to
help all students develop personal/social skills, academic skills, and career skills that
will aid them throughout their educational career and in life. I am here to help and
support you and your family. You may refer your child when you see a need. I am
always glad to talk with you and discuss the counseling program further or any areas
of concern.

TCE is partnering with First Volunteer Bank again this year to have a canned food drive to benefit Christ Chapel Share & Care
Mission. Please send in non-perishable food items from September 1-21 with your child. All of the food items collected will be
donated to Christ Chapel Share & Care Mission. First Volunteer Bank will provide a pizza party for the class who brings in the
most canned food items and an ice cream party for the class who comes in second place. Thank you for supporting us as we
reach out to help others in our community!
