Kaushambi Village Project• The Kaushambi Village

Project is an undertaking by members of the D-Foundation NGO to help protect a site of enormous historical importance, and to use this site to benefit the disadvantaged and starving people of the surrounding area. It is an effort to purchase a 15,000m2 site with ancient links to the beginnings of Buddhism and use it for the good of the local people.

Child labour and inmate release

• There are many kinds of child labour in India. Poor families may be forced to sell their children into hard labour; other children take on jobs to help their family survive. D. Foundation works to free children from all kinds of labour into education while also supporting their families.

Outreach and direct assistance

• Slum and street people live with little or no shelter, they have no access to water, care or even food. Many commit suicide, knowing there will be no improvement and survival is uncertain. D-Foundation provides emergency and long-term direct assistance as well as legal support to individuals and families.
