1. LIGHT

We need light to see:

Light moves in a straight line.

Light moves very fast.

2. LIGHT AND SHADOWS When light cannot travel through an object,a

shadow is formed.

The shadow of an object is always formed in the opposite side to the source of light

3. COLOURS

The light we get from the sun is called white light

White light is a mixture of seven colours: red,orange,yellow,green,blue,indigo and violet

The primary colours are: blue red and yellow

MIXTURE Three mixtures of the primary colours

Y + B = GR + B = VY + R = O

Luminous and non-luminous bodies

Natural luminous bodies

Artificial luminous bodies

1.LUMINOUS AND NON-LUMINOUS BODIES

1) Natural luminous bodies, like the sun produce light

2) Artificial luminous bodies like candle,are man-made

3) Some objects are sources of light. We call them luminous bodies.

4) Non-luminous bodies produce no light

1.HEAT Heat goes from one body to another

Heat goes from hot bodies to colder bodies
