Course Description

This course is designed to provide knowledge-based training to education students, teachers, administrators and high school students that are planning on entering the profession of teaching. This course will use blended learning strategies such as a classroom environment along with online computer activities to deliver the material. This course will provide the students with the necessary fundamental skills and test information to become better prepared for the Praxis I examination.

•High school students

•Teachers

•Education Professionals

•Anyone entering the Education field

Course Objectives:

•To improve literacy skills in reading, writing, math and standardized test performance for teacher education participants

•To design comprehensive material that will facet Student Success

•To develop a plan to evaluate and increase the scores for Praxis I test takers.

Delivery Method

The training will meet once a week on Wednesday nights from 6pm to 9pm; the remainder of the time will be spent online.

The material will be offered through blended learning sections.

Answer Key for Math Problems

1. C.  It may be easier to compare these numbers by converting the fractions to decimals by dividing the numerator by the denominator, or by converting all the fractions to the form with the lowest common denominator.

2. A.  One way to solve this problem is to substitute values in the first equation, and then note how the right side of the second equation can be altered to maintain its truth.
