Blueshift teaches children to create technology, not just consume it. In the Lent term
we’ll design and build some amazing animations and games using Bitsbox. Bitsbox is
designed especially for children and is a first step towards ‘text-based’ programming.
It is based on JavaScript, one of the most popular languages around. Our young
coders will have a great time creating characters and programming them to make
games like ‘Zombie Catcher’ and ‘Kitty Rescue’ they can share with their friends. All
of the games we make can be played at home as an ‘app’.As a special treat in the Lent
term, we’ll look at ways we can use code to control robots. We’ll have amazing fun
designing and building our robot creations and getting them to participate in
different challenges.
