The PREP Project is an out-of-
school program through the Ohio
Department of Health, in
partnership with the Ohio
Department of Job and Family
Services and the Ohio
Department of Youth Services
Direct Care Staff from both foster care and
juvenile justice systems will receive
training on the evidence-based Reducing
the Risk (RTR) curriculum.
In addition, three adulthood topics

PREP Project
PREP seeks to reduce teen
pregnancy and sexually
transmitted infection (STI)
rates in Ohio’s youth ages
14-19 who reside in the
foster care or
juvenile justice systems.
To maximize program success,
Ohio is divided into nine regions
each consisting of multiple
counties.
The agencies work
directly with foster care and
juvenile justice
youth and implement PREP in a
group format
