This Brand Identity manual gives you the inormation necessary to helpyou correctly use the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Logo and the words

Approved Background Colors or One-ColorBEST WESTERN PREMIER Logo Display
1. The only approved background colors upon which the one-color BEST WESTERN
PREMIER logo can be displayed are Best Western blue, Best Western gray, white, o-white and black unless otherwise specied in this manual.
2. The words Best Western, the crown icon and the inner rule must appear in white.The shield may display in the approved colors only.
3.When printing the one-color BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo on an approvedbackground, the outer rule o the shield runs fush to the background color.
4.When the background color is black, Best Western blue or Best Western gray,the Premier descriptor prints as shown on this page.

Branding Property Logos
1. To brand your property logo, the words BEST WESTERN PREMIER must precede theproperty name and must be printed in either Helvetica Neue or ITC Century BookCondensed. Specic type styles (i.e., italic, bold, condensed, etc.) are acceptable oruse i they are in one o these two type amilies.
2. The words BEST WESTERN PREMIER:
a. Must precede the property name and appear in all caps. The words can beincorporated within a property logo or above a property logo. NOTE: The onlyexception to this rule is when the property logo is displayed in an approvedproperty identication sign where the BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo, not thedescriptor name in text, is used.
b. Must be no less than 1/3 the height o the majority o the letters in the propertyname. Best Western International reserves the right to require that the wordsBEST WESTERN PREMIER be made larger. NOTE: On signage, the descriptor must
make up at least 20 percent o the total area o the sign.
c. Can display in one o the colors o the property logo or an approvedBest Western color. Unless specied elsewhere in this manual.

4. When using the Best Western Premier logo above or to the let o your property name,your property name and all identiers must be in ITC Century Book Condensed type.The type must be in Best Western gold (Pantone 873). The property name must beused in combination with the Best Western Premier logo. When you are using theBest Western Premier logo in this application you may opt to eliminate the wordsBEST WESTERN PREMIER preceding your property name. Specic type sizes andproportions are outlined or each application on the appropriate pages o this Brand
Identity Manual.
5.The length o the graphic line (when displayed below the BWP logo) must be evenlydistributed on both sides o the logo. It is recommended that the length o thisgraphic line be at least as wide as the word PREMIER. When the graphic line isdisplayed the thickness o the line needs to be at least as thick as the yellow rule othe BW logo.

All BEST WESTERN PREMIER properties are required to have the ollowingitems branded BEST WESTERN PREMIER:

General Printing Requirements
The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo must be the rst readable text. It must always to bepositioned on the top o the page proceeding (above or the let o) the property name orlogo. The ollowing guidelines are to be applied unless specied elsewhere in this manual.When creating collateral materials it is recommended that a consistent design package beused on all print materials (letterhead, envelopes, business cards, and other orms).
1. Letterhead and envelopes must match.
a. I a ull color BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo is used, the same logo must print onthe envelope.
b. I a one color BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo is used, the same logo must print onthe envelopes.
2. The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo can print in:
a. Full color
b. Best Western gold
c. Black
3. Standard size or the BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo is 25mm high by 31 mm wide(BEST WESTERN logo is hereby 19.5 mm wide)
4. When the words BEST WESTERN PREMIER are displayed in text next to a Propertyname, BEST WESTERN PREMIER must appear in all caps.
5. When a ull-color logo is used, the color bar must be vertically stripedBest Western blue and Best Western gold and type must print in Best Westerngold,Best Western blue, or black.
6. When a one-color gold logo is used, the color bar must be vertically stripedBest Western gold and white and type must print in Best Western gold.
7. When a one-color black logo is used, the type must be printed in black. A color bar isnot permitted.
8. When the color bar is used it must:
a. Appear at the top.
b. Bleed o the page.
c. Be 6.5 mm thick (the lines in the bar are 0.5mm strong with a placementgap o 2mm
d. Be displayed on white or o-white paper only

9.When a property logo is displayed:

b. When positioned at the top o a page (right edge), it must be printed inBest Western gold.
c. When positioned at the bottom o the page, it can be in its own colors orBest Western gold.
d. It must be separate rom the BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo.
e. It must never be in a more prominent position than theBEST WESTERN PREMIER logo.
10. When choosing paper;
a. High quality paper must be used.b. For stationary items (letterhead, envelope, brochures, and business cards)
o-white (12% yellow) must be used.
c. For all other items white or o-white paper may be used.
11. All type (address and other content) must;
a. Be in the approved typestyle ITC Century Book Condensed or AdobeHelvetica Neue
b. Must be in Best Western gold, Best Western blue, or black.

Premier Property Business Card RequirementsThe BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo and color bar are mandatory on this item.The technical specication listed in this section must be ollowed.
1.The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo must be 25mm high by 31mm wide
(Best Western logo is hereby 19.5mm wide)
2.The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo must be either ull-color or Best Western gold.
3. The appropriate color bar is required
4. Type must ollow the ollowing guidelines;
a. Property name must be in ITC Century Book Condensed and in Best Westerngold (Pantone 873) or produced in gold oil. Exception: when property name isin its own typestyle and positioned at the bottom o the page, then it can be inits own colors.
b. Executive Name must be set in either in ITC Century Book Condensed orAdobe Helvetica Neue Medium.
c. Position and property inormation must be set in Helvetica Neue Light. Theproperty phone number and reservation line may be in Helvetica NeueMedium.
d. The color o types (Executive Name, Position, and other content) must be BestWestern gold, Best Western blue, or black.
5. When a property logo is displayed it must;
a. Be displayed on the right. The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo must always beplaced let or centered top.
b. Must meet the ollowing specications;
i. Horizontal property logo - 45mm x 16mm or 42mm x 13mm
ii. Vertical property logo - 25mm x 32mm
c. Be displayed in Best Western gold. Exception: When the vertical style businesscard (BEST WESTERN PREMIER Ambassador Example) is used a property logomay be displayed in the own colors
6. For multi-property business cards, only BEST WESTERN, BEST WESTERN PLUS, andBEST WESTERN PREMIER hotels are allowed. (See Section 2 or general guidelines)
7. For bilingual cards, it is preerable to place one language on the ront and the sameinormation in the other language on the reverse side.
8. The card size must be 54 x 86 mm (size o a credit card) and have a paper weighto 300g.
9.Any inormation can be displayed on the back o the business card in accordance withthe General Guidelines in Section 1.

Property Brochure
All BEST WESTERN PREMIER hotels must have and display a hotel brochure that meets the
Standard O-White Design with a minimum o our pages (including the ront cover). The
BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo and color bar are mandatory on this item. The technical
specications listed in this section must be ollowed.
1. Required brochure size (closed) must be 100/105 mm x 210mm
2.The whole brochure has to be produced in ull color with true color Pantone 873 or thegold and in high quality, with a minimum paper weight o 135g.
3. The BEST WESTERN PREMIER Logo must be 25mm high by 31 mm wide(BEST WESTERN logo is hereby 19.5 mm wide)
4. When a property logo is displayed;
a. It may print in its own color.
b. It must t into an area o 83mm x 19mm.
5. Local language may be displayed provided a Latin alphabet language is alsoused and has primary placement.

Premier Guest Directory Requirements (Front & Back Cover)
The Guest Directory is a global mandatory item in every guest room worldwide. When
designed either BEST WESTERN guidelines or BEST WESTERN PREMIER guidelines
can be used. A single page Guest Directory is strictly prohibited or all BEST WESTERNPREMIER properties.
1. The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo must;
a. Be either ull-color or Best Western gold.
b. Be 39mm to 86 mm wide (Best Western logo hereby = 25mm to 54mm wide)
2. The property name must be branded with the words BEST WESTERN PREMIERi not displayed immediately below the Best Western logo.
3. The words Guest Directory or Guest Inormation are recommended and, iused, must be placed in the ITC Century Book Condensed ont.

Short Term Specialty Items
Promotional Items are items intended or short term use (e.g., balloons, mints, key chains,etc.) and are not amenities that are intended or everyday use.
1. See Guidelines or Logo Usage in Section 1 o this manual.
2.The Best Western Premier logo in ull color or Best Western gold and/or the wordsBEST WESTERN PREMIER may be printed on any background color.
3. A one-color black logo may be used on short-term promotional items. Note: the shieldo the logo and the word PREMIER must appear in black on these items with theelements o the Best Western logo in the color o the short-term promotional item.
4. Blind embossing (embossing without ink) is permitted on promotional Items.
5. The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo may also be embossed or molded on plastic itemsthat are clear (no color) or an approved background color.
6. Logo size must be maximized on the item. I needed, the logo may print slightlysmaller than 20mm on items, but must be legible and maximized in the space available.
7. Where there is not enough space to clearly print the BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo,the words BEST WESTERN or BEST WESTERN PREMIER must be used.
Uniorms/Apparel
1. When the BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo is displayed, the logo must be at least37mm wide.

Minimum General Sign Requirements
This manual may not be used or relied upon or the manuacture or construction
o signs. Intent Drawings and Specications are provided to your International
Best Western Organization oce.
1. All signs that display the property name, the BEST WESTERN PREMIERlogo or the words BEST WESTERN PREMIER must comply with thespecications in this section.
2. All signs are to be manuactured with custom quality vinyl or coloruniormity in both refected and transmitted light. The only approved vinylsign materials permitted are described in the technical specications othis section. Mismatched vinyls are not permitted.
3. All signs must portray a quality appearance. Budget signs are notpermitted. Best Western reserves the right to require modications toyour outdoor display i the display is unproessional, misleading or not incompliance with the Global Brand Identity Manual.
4. The minimum size o any Best Western Premier logo used as an exteriorsign or as part o an exterior sign is 310mm (BEST WESTERN logo ishereby 200mm) wide.
5. The BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo or the words BEST WESTERNPREMIER must represent at least 20 percent o the total sign area unlessotherwise specied in this section o the manual.
6. In the case o structural limitations only, the BEST WESTERN PREMIERlogo or the words BEST WESTERN PREMIER may be less than 20percent but not less than 10 percent o the total sign area and must be
submitted to Best Western or BWO or approval

Premier Property Identication Signs (PID Signs)
Property Identication Signs must be manuactured in accordance with the signstandards and the Best Western Brand Identity Exterior Sign Program Design IntentDrawings and Specications. Property sign technical specications can be ound in the
back o this section.
1.The property name as used in a PID sign must be the ocial name o the hotel asregistered with Best Western reservation systems, with the ollowing exceptions:
a. Words indicating the property location (such as the city, town or region) may beadded to the ocial hotel name on the PID sign.
b. Words indicating the property location may be in the ocial name and not onthe PID sign.
c. The word Hotel or its equivalent (such as Inn, Lodge, Motel, etc.), orother similar generic words (such as Conerence Center) may be included in
the PID sign, even i the ocial name o the property does not include the wordHotel or its equivalent.
d. The word Hotel or its equivalent or other similar generic words may be in theocial name o the property and may be excluded rom the PID sign.
e. The word Hotel or its equivalent may precede or ollow the property name.
2. A Premier Property Identication (PID) Sign is required. It must be prominentlydisplayed and visible to all guests upon arrival.
3. Sign must be illuminated. Internal illumination is preerred. Sucient lighting mustbe provided to ensure visibility day and night.
4. A ull color Best Western Premier logo is required on a PID.
5. Must be no less than 4180 cm
6. Logo size requirements are as ollows:
a. Option 1 - 70% o the total sign area (minimum sign size 564mm wide by742mm high).
b. Option 2 - 30% o the total sign area.
c. Option 3 - At least 30% o the total sign area (minimum logo size 387 mm wide).
d. Option 4 - At least 30% o the total sign area (Minimum logo size 387 mm wide)

2. Property name or logo, when used:
a. Must be displayed in individual, three-dimensional letters (commonly reerredto as channel).
b. Must be displayed in one o the approved Best Western colors: black; white;Best Western red; Best Western blue; Best Western yellow; Best Western gray;Best Western gold. Alternative materials are allowed with BWI approval. It isrecommended that Best Western gold or Best Western blue be used.
c. May be in any typestyle.
d. A property name or logo enclosed in a separate cabinet is not allowed or anOption 3 sign.
3.When using a graphic with your property name:
a. Each graphic must be mounted individually.
b. The graphic element must not be more prominent than the BEST WESTERNPREMIER logo.
c. The graphic element must not precede the property name.
d. Must be displayed in the same approved color as the property name.
4. When internally illuminate the individually mounted letters PREMIER, the smallest
letter o the word PREMIER must be 350 mm in height. For those properties thatdo not have sucient space to accommodate this requirement, the Best WesternPremier logo cabinet may be may be used. NOTE: The cabinet must ollow thecabinet style (rounded edges) and ollow all other guidelines in relation to color.
5. Sign may be installed on a wall, building, roo or on a ree standing structure that
coordinates with the architectural design o the building.

An amenity panel is an addition to the bottom o a PID or Secondary Sign that
includes inormation about the amenities o the property.
1. The copy within an amenity panel must be in all white or all Best Western yellow.
2. The background eld must be white with amenity inormation contained within a
Best Western blue eld. Both the white background eld and the Best Western blue
eld must be outlined in a Best Western gold trim.
3. The typestyle displayed within the amenity panel must be ITC Century Book
Condensed or Adobe Helvetica Neue.
4.The amenity panel must be displayed beneath the primary sign.
a. Option 1 (Monument Style) - The height o the panel must be no less than halo the height and no taller than twice the height o the property name panel.

10. I an amenity panel is displayed:
a. The same colors used or the background and copy must be used in theamenity panel below. Reversed type is allowed provided background colormatches type above.

c. Must be the same width as the sign above. The height o the panel on this style

Premier Courtesy Vehicle Requirements
Property courtesy vehicles transporting 6 or more guest can either ollow BEST WESTERNor BEST WESTERN PREMIER branding guidelines. It is not mandatory to have a courtesyvehicle, but i the property has a courtesy vehicle, the vehicle must comply.
1. The Best Western Premier logo must comply with the Approved BEST WESTERNPREMIER Logo Colours and standard specications
2.The Best Western Premier logo must be a minimum o 310 mm wide and representapproximately 30 % o the total space o the Best Western Premier logo and hotel name.
3. When displaying the Best Western Premier logo the color o the vehicle must be white,o-white, black, silver/gray, or blue.
4. I the vehicle is any other color, the words Best Western Premier in gold in conjunctionwith the property name must be displayed.
Swoosh Graphic Option
The Swoosh Graphic Option guidelines that are noted in Section 6 o the Global BrandIdentity manual may be applied. BEST WESTERN PREMIER properties are allowed to displayeither the BEST WESTERN or the BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo
1.I ull color graphic kit is used the same guidelines noted in Section 6 apply. The onlychanges are;
a. The property name/logo and additional text may also be displayed in Best Westerngold.

Straight Line Graphic Option
The Straight Line Graphic Option guidelines that are noted in Section 6 o the Global Brand

Shared Courtesy Vehicles
Vehicles shared between several brands:
1. It must display a ull-color BEST WESTERN or BEST WESTERN PREMIER Logo thatis o equal size to or larger than the other organizations logo.
a. Minimum size or BEST WESTERN Logo is 200mm wide
b. Minimum size or the BEST WESTERN PREMIER logo is 310mm wide
2. The words BEST WESTERN or BEST WESTERN PREMIER may only be used inplace o the BEST WESTERN logo i the other organizations noted on the vehicle donot display their brand logo.
Other Property Vehicles
For all other vehicles (such as vehicle that transport ewer than our Guests, cateringvehicles, smart cars, etc) the design option mentioned above or in Section 6 o the GlobalBrand Identity manual may be used.
