The Start… In summer of 2008 two engineering senior years students Shanshak ND and Abhinav Lal at NIT K Surathkal came up with a very interesting business idea for a start-up firm.

The idea was to integrate healthcare field with information technology.

The main focus was to revolutionize the age-old healthcare industry .

This vision led to formation of Practo ray platform.

Goals & Objectives

to revolutionize the functioning and the marketing in healthcare industry.

To provide easy software solutions for the daily functioning of the speciality clinic and individual practitioners.

Patient management software. To help patients in making an informed decisions regarding doctor and clinic selection as per his/her needs. To provide a advertising platform for doctors and various other medical practitioners.

To help doctors in maintain patient relationships ( Client relationship management).

Business Model

The business model which Practo Ray used was of “ Software as a Service” or “SaaS”.

In this type of model the software is licensed on subscription basis and centrally hosted.

Sometimes it is also referred to as On-demand software. SaaS is typically accessed by users using thin client via web browser.
