When a 3-phase converter is operated for alpha >90 degree (4th quadrant) , it can be operated as Inverter but the control of output is not satisfacotrily done. Hence the purpose of Inverters with full control of output is necessisiated like VSI( voltage source Inverter ) ,CSI, etc
