COOKING WITH POT
Why would you want to cook with weed? Well, there are a couple of reasons that come to mind:
Different high. Eating weed produces a different high than smoking weed does. Some describe
it as deeper or as having more of a body sensation.
Sore throat. When you throat is feeling a little scratchy or flat out raw, you may not feel like
smoking weed to get high.
Smell. If you are afraid that someone will smell pot on your breath or on your clothes, eating pot
offers a valuable alternative.
Taste. This may be a shock to you, but some people dont enjoy the taste of weed when smoked. If you are one of these people, you can see how eating the weed in a sweet food will help to
mask the taste and still get you high.
Dont expect to get high right away when eating pot in food. The high usually takes 40-60 minutes to fully creep up on you. Also, if you consume a lot, dont expect to do much the rest of the day. Eating pot can really burn you out.

Cooking with pot butter allows you the freedom to eat your weed
without biting into any stems and seeds. Why would you spend
so much time cooking a dessert just to have it ruined by the suspended scraps of weed? By
following the recipe in this chapter, you will be able to create one batch of pot butter (figure 9.1)
to be used in any recipe you like. You can use the recipes I have given or create your own, but
the key is to have fun.
Pot Butter will make your entire house smell for at least a day. Make sure that everyone in your
household is cool with your cooking endeavors because you will not be able to hide the stench.
FOR BEST RESULTS
For best results, dont smoke weed before eating your marijuana treats. You be will tempted to break out your best piece while waiting for the high to kick in; try to hold out. When you realize
you are high (and havent smoked herb all day) its really cool!
CHRONIC VS. STRESS
When cooking with marijuana it is recommended that you use a low to medium grade
harvest. This may seem contrary to what you have read thus far, but good weed is simply too
expensive to eat and the high produced by consuming quality weed is not worth the extra cost. Save your chronic for another day.

How To: Automate the Butter Process
INGREDIENTS
Double boiler or 2 pots
1 lb unsalted butter (4 sticks / 2 cups)
1/4 oz to 1 oz marijuana buds
Strainer or cheesecloth
Small container
DIRECTIONS
1. Using a double boiler (or two pots), melt the butter on low heat. If using two pots, fill the larger (bottom) pot with water and the smaller (top) pot with butter. (Figure 9.1 shows a small bowl inside of a pot.)
2. Once the butter has melted, add the weed. *See the table below for estimated weed quantity. 3. Simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes (stirring every 5 minutes.) To extract more THC from
your pot, simmer for 2-3 hours.

4. Let the melted pot butter cool for 5-10 minutes then strain the pot butter using a
strainer or cheesecloth (Figure 9.2) into a small container. 5. Cover and refrigerate your pot butter until semi-solid (or as required by your recipe.)
WEED QUANTITY
Im sure by now you are wondering, How much weed should I use to make pot butter? Because weed quality varies to such a large degree, it is impossible to predict exactly how much
to use in order to achieve the desired results. Therefore, it is always better to err on the light side until you know your tolerance to marijuana edibles. Also, because you dont want to make pot butter everyday, it is better to make large batches. You can use the chart below for estimated
butter-to-pot ratios depending on the strength of your buds. For bigger batches, simply double or
triple the recipe.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES WITH MARIJUANA
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup pot-butter
1 1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 (12 ounce) package (2 cups) of chocolate morsels
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Mix (by hand) the butter, sugars, and egg into a large bowl. 3. Combine the baking soda, salt, and flour. 4. Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and stir by hand. 5. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them two inches apart on a greased cookie
sheet 6. Stir in the chocolate morsels. 7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until light brown. 8. Hungry? Let cool for 3 or 4 minutes and grub.

CHOCOLATE CHIP BROWNIES WITH MARIJUANA
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup pot-butter (softened)
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup (firmly packed) dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (12 ounce) package (2 cups) of chocolate morsels
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt (set aside). 3. In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract (beat until
creamy). 4. Add eggs (one at a time), beating well after each addition. 5. Gradually add flour mixture and mix well. 6. Stir in the chocolate morsels. 7. Spread evenly into a well-greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan.

8. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. 9. Cool and cut into 2-inch squares.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup pot butter
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large or 3 small eggs
3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup walnuts
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the chocolate. Mix until melted and set aside. 3. In a large mixing bowl add the sugar and eggs. Beat until thoroughly mixed. 4. Add the chocolate/butter mixture in with the eggs and mix well. 5. Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt while mixing. 6. Add the vanilla extract and mix. 7. Add walnuts. 8. Spread pot brownie mix evenly into a well-greased 8 x 8-inch baking pan. 9. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. 10. Cool and cut pot brownies into 2-inch squares.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup pot butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 bananas (very ripe)
1/2 sour cream or milk
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Beat the butter, eggs, sour cream (or milk), and sugar in a large bowl. 3. Add baking soda and vanilla. 4. Add flour slowly while beating. 5. When mixed, add the bananas and beat until mostly smashed. 6. Place in a greased loaf baking pan and bake for one hour.

MARSHMALLOW CEREAL TREATS WITH MARIJUANA
INGREDIENTS

3-4 tablespoons pot butter
1 (10 ounce) bag regular or mini (pictured) marshmallows
6 cups crisp rice cereal
1 (12 ounce) package butterscotch pieces
DIRECTIONS
1. Melt the pot butter in a large sauce pan over low heat. 2. Add marshmallows and mix until completely melted and then remove from heat. 3. Immediately add the cereal and stir until coated. 4. Mix in the butterscotch pieces. 5. Press the mixture into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. 6. Chill. Cut into 2-inch squares when cool.
BUD SAYS: There is minimal butter in this recipe above. Therefore, the high produced by these treats is less than that of some of the other recipes found on this site.

PUMPKIN CUPCAKES MADE WITH CANNAOIL
INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup pot oil/cannaoil (Step-by-step cannaoil recipes coming soon.)
1 two-layer-size package yellow cake mix
3/4 cup water
3 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup sour cream
1 can vanilla frosting
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Line a twenty-four 2.5-inch muffin baking sheet with paper bake cups. 3. Prepare layer cake per package directions, but use 3/4 cup water and 1/3 cup pot oil. 4. Stir canned pumpkin, sour cream, and spice into batter. 5. Spoon batter into cups (2/3 3/4 full.) 6. Bake for 20 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. 7. Cool cupcakes in muffin cups on wire rack for 5 minutes. 8. Remove cupcakes from muffin cups. 9. Cool completely on wire racks. 10. Frost generously and eat!

3 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetenend cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups milk
1 can desired frosting
DIRECTIONS
1. Allow butter and eggs to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. 2. Meanwhile, line twenty-four 2.5-inch muffin cups with paper bake cups. 3. In a meduim bowl stir together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and
salt. Set aside. 4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 5. In a large mixing bowl, beat pot butter with an electric mixer on meduim to high speed
for 30 seconds. Gradually add sugar until combined. Beat about 2 minutes or until light and fluffy.
6. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 7. Beat in vanilla. 8. Alternately add flour mixture and milk to butter mixture, beating on low speed after
each. 9. Beat on medium speed for 20 seconds more. 10. Spoon batter into cups (1/2 - 2/3 full.) 11. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in centers comes out
clean. 12. Cool cupcakes in muffin cups on wire racks for 5 minutes. 13. Remove cupcakes from muffin cups. 14. Cool completely on wire racks. 15. Frost with desired frosting.

How to make Bud Butter
Cooking with weed offers an alternative to inhaling marijuana smoke to get high. By using "Bud Butter"
in your recipes you can consume the marijuana in a tasty way.
Here's one recipe for Bud Butter:
Ingredients
1 lb. of butter (not margarine!)
1/2 ounce of finely ground marijuana
Method
Melt the butter in a sauce pan until it's simmering.
Add the marijuana and let simmer for 30 minutes or so until the butter has turned green from the
marijuana.
Pour butter through a strainer to remove all the pieces of marijuana.
Chill until solid.
Methods of THC extraction
- butter
- cooking oil (soak in for a week)
- milk
- cream
- flour - Another method that doesn't require cooking is cannaflour. Grind the cannabis up as fine as you
can get it, and mix it with the following ratio: for every cup of flour, mix in a half cup of powdered
cannabis. Your final product is cannaflour, and you can use it in just about every baking recipe.
- weed - If you're in a hurry you can also do the following: melt some (dairy) butter in a pan and throw in
some weed; stir a bit, and then fry an egg (or a pancake or whatever) in it. Don't throw the weed away,
it will still contain some THC. Eat the egg or whatever you made. Sweet stuff (honey, syrup, marmalade)
tastes good with weed.

1 Box of brownie mix
{pick one that requires
oil} (Fudge if you want to

Note: Weed strength varies and there is no "standard" so quantities may
not be given or be approximate. Please use your own judgement when
measuring based on your knowledge of the weed you're using.
Directions:
The brownie mix should call for oil.
Add the weed to the oil in a saucepan.
Cook on medium-low for 30 mins (trust me the time is worth it)
Strain out weed and use the remaining oil for the recipe
Follow instructions on the box to make the brownies.
Also if you want to smoke while the brownies cook dry the weed by using 4
napkins and some books.
Then smoke away as desired.
The weed still contains some THC.
