Safe Environment for Our Children
Did you know students from Pre-K to Grade 12 in our Catholic Schools
and Faith Formation programs receive Safe Environment training every
year as required by the diocesan Child and Youth Protection Policy?
Our Safe Environment training addresses each grade level with age
appropriate curriculum to help our children and youth with knowledge
that can help keep themselves safe while providing this instruction that is
fully consistent with the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
Last year, over 16,000 students received training throughout the diocese.
Are You Homebound and would like the Eucharist brought to you at home?
Homebound Outreach
If you know someone who is unable to attend Mass because they are
homebound we have volunteers from Pope John XXIII Parish avail-
able to bring Communion to them. Please call the Parish Office at
315 - 652 - 6591 with the name, address and phone number of the
person in need of as Communion visit. Someone from the Pastoral
Outreach to the Homebound Ministry will contact you to set up a
visit.
Father Zach
We are all called by name. It’s what we do after we are called that really
counts. Last week we reflected upon our Mission to follow Jesus and
this week we see Jesus calling individuals to follow Him. As a Christian
community everyone is called into the mission but as the reality of life
shows only a few will answer. As we continue in this year of prayer
during the quiet of our lives can we reflect upon the question, “What has
God called me to do?” Look at the son’s of Zebedee, when we seek out
the power of prayer many things can be done with very little.
Just a quick up date with the journey of the linkage between Christ the
King and Pope John XXIII. To help communicate between the churches
and also to the wider Liverpool/Clay area we are going to be starting a
joint bulletin. What does this mean; no one is losing their bulletin.
We have worked out an agreement with the Liturgical Publications that
we will be creating a larger bulletin. Both parishes currently have a
three page bulletin and when the combined bulletin is put into place it
will be an eight page bulletin. We are creating pages that will highlight
individual church activities and also reflect upon what we are doing
together. Please pray for us during this time of transition. A very
important note is that since it will take more time we ask that you have
any needed bulletin announcements in to the parish office the
Wednesday, a week prior to the bulletin announcement date. The new
bulletin will be in place the weekend of February 8/9. Please have all
bulletin notifications in by January 29th for the February 8/9 bulletin.
Fall Adult Faith Sharing Group
When: Wednesday’s 1:00 - 2:30 PM
Where: Pope John XXIII in Room #9
Topic: Video series on the Eucharist for 6 sessions.
We do not meet if Liverpool closes school for the day or they
dismiss early due to weather.
All adults from Pope John XXIII and Christ the King are
welcome to attend.
Weather Cancellation Policy for Christ the King / Pope John XXIIII
Just a reminder that winter is here! The cancellation policy for the
parishes is as follows. If Liverpool Schools are closed or dismissed
early then all parish activities are cancelled for the day. (meetings,
devotions, prayer groups, adoration, music lessons, faith formation,
confessions etc.) Daily Mass will still take place unless noted on
local Television. As always we ask people to use wise judgement in
inclement weather. If you think the roads aren’t safe then stay
home.

FORMED.ORG - Update
Many of you have enjoyed using FORMED (www.formed.org) the
online library of films, videos, books and more about our faith. This is a
free service for you and anyone you care to share it with, underwritten by
the parish.
Two important changes:
1) As a result of our linkage - and because Pope John XXIII is also a
subscriber - we will be sharing this sponsorship going forward. Our
new/revised parish login code is: XJJC8K. Use this code to register
as a user and access all of the FORMED content.
2) The FORMED platform is undergoing exciting changes, making it
easier to use and offering content that’s easier to access and share.
